I don't wanna wait for a staff to delete it, espically since they aren't always online. If we got to delete our own fourm, there is less hassle...

If you agree with me please sign here....

Nope! If there was a spammer that kept spammin' and then deleting their forum, there would be no evidence against them.

I am saying that if you have said something bad, spammed or something along the lines of that, you cannot be convicted if you destroy the evidence by deleting the forum.

eh but we're talking spammers here. how many of them would be smart enough to do that or even know how to do it b/c most spammers are noobs anyway.

i agree mostly for this suggestion. i find it annoying that we have to wait for staff to delete our forums. also ping your point is pretty useless as if spammers were smart enough they could simply edit it out and pretend they were doing something else.

Isn't there a forum similar to this ?

But I still agree, although annoying n00bs can spam and delete them

The staff probraly can keep history or something for that

like the history post for which thread you deleted so far

Well I wouldn't *smack* Ping down and say Ping's opinion is useless, it was had good reasons. There are other forums that have the same thought process, and there are forums that don't allow you to edit your post either so that you actually have to think before you post.

But since we've pretty much destroyed that here by allowing you to edit (which I do enjoy, and most people here add Edit, or mark where they've edited, some people don't...I don't always.) it would seem hey why not to 'delete a post'.

But I disagree, because if a whole bunch of us post on a post and really enjoy it, but the person who did it decides they don't like the way its going, deletes their post when nothing 'bad' was said...basically they're making it a priviledge for us to have an opinion to respond. I disagree, even though I've weanted to delete my posts many times, thats if no one or not many have responded after a long while, and you find it inactive and want to make it disappear and not wait for it to go to the bottom.

And many people assume Spammers don't have any kind of intelligence (even calling them idiots which just shows how smart 'they' themselves are.).

Some spammers are computers (not the ones we're talking about but worth mentioning), computers are very intelligent for the most part (smarter than the human who created it.), the other spammers and the sort, are generally people who do those things just for fun. Their form of annoying fun, its like the person who creates viruses and bugs for your computer. They enjoy it, its fun, they get a kick out of it. Just because we ourselves wouldn't find it fun, or it 'annoys' us personally... there are things many people find personally fun and enjoying which 'annoys' other people(crunching popcorn while you're trying to watch a movie, turning off all the lights vs. leaving them on, a baby that has colic in the elevator, a mother with children in public, and so on), and those people can and are easily deemed 'not smart enough', 'inept', or even 'dumb' based on the other persons perception.

As for spammers do they lack of intelligence just because they do what they do? On the contrary. Spammers wouldn't want to delete their post if they were spamming to get a rise out of you (and it is funny to see you guys go off responding in anger back and fourth, or even...arguing with someone who is being a 'dimrod' to get a rise out of you). If they deleted their posts frequently there wouldn't be a point in getting a rise out of a person, because they'd be cleaning up for us. Nor would they edit it, not because they're idiots...anyone with enough sense to know how to get on your nerves 'purposely' knows how to 'edit' or in this case 'not edit'.

And my definition of a Spammer isn't just repeating the same things over and over and over again, it includes people who say things repeatedly over and over to get rises out of you 'and' even respond back to you. People who use bright coloured texts repeatedly after you've asked them not to, *who talk 'lik dis, 2 b c00l, 4 u 28nght' and so on.

Honestly, I don't see how deleting your own forum is different from deleting your own blog.  Either you should be able to do it on both, or it should not be possible on either.  Doesn't that make sense?

I see forums as a thing for communities, and blogs as...personal things (more personal than, What's your favourite singer, kinda forum). It's different.

True, but in terms of spamming, someone could easily do that on a blog and then just delete it.  It's spam no matter where they put it.  So if they can delete spam there, why not on the forums?

I guess I just don't get your point about the community and personal thing.  Can you explain?  Then I might see the point you are trying to make...

Spammers would spam just to spam the entire forum board.  But I don't think that could be any different than blogs, which you can delete on your own.
