We could each start new bank accounts where we each pay like 500 tu to open.

Interest begins as soon as an account is open, but of course the more tu we put in, the more interest is given to us.  It can start off small, like 40 tu interest if you have 2k-10k in the bank and your interest increases as your account does.

We might also have levels of bank accounts that can be name anything like standard silver account or even triple omni account. It's whatever.

It's a little under-developed but it's similar to on neo (if you've ever played)

Basically I think this is a nice easy way to get a little tu here and there but it also encourages players to save and keep track of where their tu is at all times. Maybe this will cut down on support tickets about tu (if there are any) A history could prove if tu was stolen, taken out, spent, etc etc

just a thought o3o

It's a good idea, but I suggest that it be an even percentage for everyone with tu in the bank account.  Say, like, 5%, so the people with less money earn more than the ones with 1 mil+, who don't care about an extra few thousand here or there.

People with more TU always earn more.
The 5% of 10000 TU is 500 TU.
The 5% of 50 million is 2.5 million TU. I have almost 100 mill at the moment and many people have way more.

Bank interest is a fun idea, but unfortunately not something that will work.

We encourage spending and like to see items and TU moving around.

Bank interest would work against poorer players as the wealthy become less likely to spend.

Pretty much everyone will become less likely to spend.

I support because it seems realistic. If the interest is graduated (or maybe the opposite of that - like where the percentage decreases the higher the deposit), then I really don't think that spending would slow down. It's a good idea, and with some extra thought behind it, I'm sure it WOULD work.

However, I don't agree with the stupid little account names - I don't want to see ANYTHING simillar to Neopets on Res. Blech.

Shallowcloud: That's because you shouldn't buy only ONE kind of stocks, but several different ones. One of them always goes up, and you don't have to wait months.

"You have successfully sold 50000 shares of SWE! You have gained 24497635 tu."...
...after I decided to sell SWE at 490, while I still have ANT at 447 and BEV at 357 the same time.

Even if you have a diverse porfolio you can still be waiting a while for stocks to rise. It's happened to all of us lol.

I still like the idea of being able to have long term investments in tu. XD But Allen's right, we need to encourage people to spend tu on hoard it. c:
