Free Offers - Cash Points

Normal User Posts: 275	I'm pretty sure this feature was implemented to the old Credit Shop, but what if you could put up random videos to earn possible cash points? To me, this is pretty much a new 'thing' on other pet sites and it's just much simpler to gain 'cash' points within a short or long amount of time. If we did have the feature, why not just bring it back? I'm sure there can be some simple coding involved and you can direct Res-safe, watchable videos for maybe a couple of points every day. I know Rescreatu doesn't want to be like other petsites, but I'm sure if users want to work hard to get some really nice items, they would take the time to watch a 1 or 2 minute video to earn maybe 1-5 credit/points. That's not a lot of points to gain, no, but I still think it's a fair opportunity for anyone on the site who can't afford to pay with real money to work hard to get something they really want on Rescreatu. :) I would use this feature until I was able to afford to buy cash points with real money. I use this feature on a couple of other sites and have saved up quite a bit of their 'cash shop currency'. What do you guys think? Agree/disagree? If you disagree, please explain why. The only reason for this suggestion is I'm not trusting of signing up to a site or downloading a game just to get a couple of points for the Cash Shop, then having to deal with viruses that come from these 'free offers'. Viewing Youtube videos or any other 'safe' source is much better, and in my own opinion, safer than that.

Normal User Posts: 1,938	I would even download games for that matter. I did in the old credit offers. But they ran out eventually. The only ones left were those that had to be phone-billed, and they would have installed a continuous billing thing onto my phone. So the offers ran out from "my country", or however they were offered to me. I agree for this suggestion. o3o

Normal User Posts: 92	Urban Rivals once ran something like this and it was quite neat. But maybe it should only run in periods to ensure the economy, and rarity of the CP items? Also, technically you can also work hard earning tu to buy from other users, but there are still many positive sides about this idea (like fairly new users having a chance) However to ensure overall fairness this can NOT be something where you only get advertisements from your own country. When the credit thing used to run there where only ever 2 advertisements from my country (both you had to pay in the end) rendering the whole thing useless :/ Smaller countries dont stand a chance in that .

Moderator Posts: 2,153	Pat is looking into a service that differs from the old one that was being used for free credits. One thing to keep in mind is that Rescreatu itself doesn't design these offers - they are sponsored by an outside company. So we have to go with what is available. The way it works is, you complete the offer or action, Rescreatu gets the money, and you get the cash points. This way Res isn't losing out on anything. That's why we can't design the offers ourselves, and that's why it is dependent on an outside advertising company. ＊•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚♫ and the haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate ♫＊•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚

Normal User Posts: 275	I see. I'm sure that's how it is on the other pet sites that have this feature. So, with all that said, my suggestion is fully put out, isn't it? Lol. I'm basically just talking about viewing videos. That's the idea behind my suggestion. But then again, by the term 'action', viewing a video would all coincide with that, haha. The one thing I don't like is the offers where you have to sign up for the site, download this game or that game, etc. That's a potential hazard to get all kinds of viruses on your computer. I don't like for my computer to get sick just to nab a few credit points on a pet site from only a few offers that are available for the day. Lol. I just want everyone to get a chance to get some nice stuff on the site in a free, easy way and at their own pace, of course. Saving up 1-5 CP might take a long time, but in the end, it would be worth it. Also, I don't think this feature(or the future feature) would affect the rarity of CP items. Not if you're only allowed to view a certain number of videos per day which could be maybe only one or three videos. Just depends on what Patrick will do when implementing this different service, as Broken said. Who knows. I'm actually glad he's looking into this type of suggestion and I hope he finds something that will benefit the site and make users on here happy. :)

Moderator Posts: 2,153	My response was mainly to the input about not limiting views from a particular country, etc...just trying to explain the limitations. Videos should be do-able...there are plenty of sites that use that method. Normal User Posts: 37	Honestly, offers like this are a good thing, but simple 'video watching' would totally not be an option. It's way too simple to do. And what 14BM said makes perfect sense. The reason for a site like this to have free offers available is because they get a sort of commission when users join the offered service. Most of the 'free credit' offers that sites give you actually require you to join a service that requires money. So, it's not actually completely free, you're just not paying Rescreatu directly. A lot of offers like, "Sign up for a free month trial of Netflix for __ Credits" have a catch. Sometimes they won't send through for your credits until your free month has ended, and you pay for your second month. But, like 14BM also said, Pat doesn't design the offers himself. They're just what the company is willing to offer.
