It wasn't on the List of Suggestion board, but it's hard to believe that this was never brought up before so the other on is probably old and dusty. So wha if we can dress creatu, like make clothes that go on creatu like a collar or glasses. You can maybe bring out some outfits in the CS shop for creatu just like our avvies and maybe et a avatar if you buy the outfit with credits! Opinions? Comments? Support? No support?

inb4 the flood of 'it's too much like Neopets'.

I guess I'm not really sure what I think. xD I find myself thinking outfits could look silly and odd, where Res generally has a more mature feel.. but small, relatively normal stuff like collars could be nice.

And personally, I think if something like this did happen, the accessories should only appear on the 'partner' Creatu we'll apparently be able to have stand with our avatars. I don't like the idea of adding stuff on to the traditional Creatu images.

*totally wasn't about to smack an "EW Neopets!" on this thread* >.>

Anyways (going off of Yoshi a bit), absolutely no support to the traditional images. I never use this feature on sites like Neopets or Chicken Smoothie because it's just strange. It looks strange to me and always will, even more so I couldn't imagine one of my Zaphaos in a tux or something. It'd just cover up the cool colors and stuff.

I guess I wouldn't hate it on the new 'partner Creatu' but it'd still seem odd at first. If there were some cool collars and accessories, I might use them, but it doesn't make a difference to me. I'm happy with my imagination, but I see how it could possibly make sense on the Creatu in the HAs.

Dressing up creatu reminds me of Beverly Hills posh... I don't know if our pets, who are intended to be wild and natural, would appreciate being dressed up like they were some doll.

I think dressing up creatu would also take away the income of some graphic artists. People who edit creatu images with items that are on site would lose their job because we would be taking it from them.

I really don't support this. I like having creatu clotheless. It makes them look less humiliatingly domesticated. n_n;

I don't support either. Maybe you could have your selected creatu with your avatar? But otherwise dressing them would be kind of silly. cx

Scams could arise from this.

Eg.

A user with a Zenirix can code their profile into saying that it is actually an Omni, and dresses the Zenirix up like an Omni. A user purchases it.

Unless, you know, like.

Standard creatu collars, I used to think that creatu could wear them. Yea ^^

I just thought little collars and stuff that a real pet would wear, not full out ball gowns. xD I'm thinking the partner thing would really only be the one being dressed in a collar...

This will be hell on earth for the res artists. There are loads of different kinds of creatu and they'll have to dress them up. Like, how do you dress up a cyid? Then this will make creatus more difficult to update because they have to reshape the clothes to the shape of the new graphic and artists will be more reluctant to make revamps xD

Collars. I adore putting collars on ANYTHING. XD I'm curious though. Would they be one size fits all?

Anyway. Those I support. Anything else is just... No.

I am not particularly found of dressing pets... HOWEVER, I think it would be cool to have a single type of clothing item, like a collar/scarf/neck assecory. Instead of having pants, shirts, dessed, purses, hats, ect, ect. I would think Collars are realistic enough, and hey, nothing wrong with an awesome Ninja scarf. Though getting my Cats to wear one would be hard. xP

I like the color idea, but that all that should go on them

Ping makes a very good point there. No support.

Plus I like having the creatu being free without extra accessories to slow them down. :)

That's what I was saying only something a normal pet would wear. A collar.

Okay, let me illustrate my point here:

ost of you suggested getting single items of clothing, nothing complicated like a pants or something, just a collar. And to get around the 'making a new graphic for every piece of clothing whenever there's a revamp', there will be a standard image.

So, this berrok looks great in it's pink collar:

So now we'll put this collar on a chimby and a ahea:

Yup, the collar not only doesn't fit on them, the collar is also nowhere near their necks (okay, the ahea's collar is sorta close to the neck. However it's more like an eyepatch or a sweatband instead if you think about it). Meaning there will have to be a new overlay graphic for every single creatu. Though you might say 'it's just a collar, no biggy', it's actually a lot harder than you think. You ahave to get the same light source and detail in shading for it to look no wierd on the creatu. This is not only really boring for the artists, it's also quite tedious and because all of the overlays must be revamped whenever creatu are revamped. I also have to add that the artists on Res are not working full time and are not paid real money (they need to feed themselves or do something else). This is generally volunteer work with a few online perks.

Before you say, 'oh no! I love all the creatu's graphics the way they are', you have to take into consideration that Res loves to move forward and make their site a tad more pretty all the time.

In order for this to work, dare I say, we have to make a generically shaped and extremely low quality graphics like Neopets (sorry, but it's the best example). If you notice, the pets on Neopets only have one la
yer of shading. Whereas Res has two or more layers of shading plus two or more layers of lighting.

Okay, I guess it is a terrible idea. Nevermind, this is closed. Let it die off.

Wasn't a bad idea Ping's example is based off of how normal avatar building is achieved, however, the example is a bit strange since for example neopets of diffrent species can wear the same item and it's in a completley diffrent spot.

Though I would say if we did have collars, I think it'd be fair if only adult creatu could wear one.

Ping's example is absolutely spot on.

Just like you see the same item in your wardrobe for dressing your HA here, and both male and female can wear it, different drawings must be made for what appears when you put it on the male and female in order for the item to show up properly on the HA.
