Recently Gunmetal and I have undertaken a task to help shift the prices of rare hatches up, we focus on silvers and so far have moved the market from 20k to a page of well-named lovely creatu at 100k. We have been buying the junk names and foresting them all, so far we have spent what would amount to at least 5million tu in two days just on horribly named pets that are now in the forest.

The reason we do this is to stop over supply and we are attempting to have supply and demand meet equally, thus creating a better market for ranchers as opposed to the crippled mess it is now.

My suggestion is this. Allow people to delete pets, you can phrase it nicely so as not to upset the sensitive ones 'Release creatu into the wild' and this will allow us to delete these silvers we are accumulating, without the worry of them being dragged back out of the forest and placed on the market for 20k where it will not sell and drag down prices again.

It may also be helpful, and a wonderful way to stop all those 0tu pets if this was an option for just hatched pets also, instead of naming you 'release into the wild' which really means it is just deleted as if it never existed and is now not going to clog the search/forest

This will be a big help to our cause, but thinking of the greater picture it will also be a wonderful help to all ranchers, wont you love to price your nicely named silvers at 100k instead of having to beat 20k badly named pets that don't move just in order to sell something? And think of the benefits of not having pets names 'ewtrewrwerw' hatched three times daily on the search, it means you will have more productive creatu searches and you will find nicer things in the forest.

It just seems crazy that something so simple, yet so helpful keeps being denied.

 Edit:

Because a few of us are getting our wires crossed I thought it might help if I did this step by step.

Currently, when we search the forest we usually come accross a few of these, if you have my luck this is pretty much all we ever see.

likewise if you visit the search you will see something like this

The pets underlined in red are one that have names that are very unpopular and have a small chance of ever being bought, because of this they clog up the search as each day the amount of these badly named/unwanted pets double. they are all priced at 0tu which means the person who hatched them obviously did not want them, if they were given the option they would likely have deleted it as soon as it was hatched. Because we do not have this option though, as I said the search will clog, people will be foreced to sell their hatches with nice names at 0tu in order to compete and it really is just a big mess

Out of 21 names only 5 are passable names, this means that on anerage only 23% of 0tu names are ones which have a chance to be bought

Because people take no care in naming their naturals when you search for names in the forest you only have a 23% chance of finding something worthwhile.

If we were gien the chance to delete hatches we would prefer not to keep instead of being forced to forest then or price them a 0tu hoping someone will buy it to use in a junk pet trade (which will end up in the forest) the chance that we find something well named will increase but a large number.

Bigger chance of finding nice things in the forest = Big fun

A smaller percentage of badly named pets clogging up the search = easier ways to search for pets, a smaller amount of badly named pets, a more thriving economy as pets will not be in over supply and those that are named will have had more thought put into them.

I like your idea, Air.
But the point is, this is going to effect the forest system :|

Nice idea you guys have there :3

Have to agree with Roxy though, would be harder for some to find certain pets but eh, all plans have flaws no?

it would help the forest. Instead of finding 'awesda' you would be able to find better quality creatu.

or you could look at it like this

Currently the pets most common in the forest are ones that were hatched natural and people did not take care in naming them and then they forested them

this means that when you search you are more likely to find one of these as opposed to a pet that has a nice name or is a nice colour or even a seasonal or credit shop pet

If people start deleting their dissapointing hatches, instead of them clogging up the forest there will now be empty spaces where 'Aasdasdasdfg' would have been, and you will now find ones that are of a higher quality.

Yes, I would like to find better creatu but I dont think people are going to use the forest anymore because of delete.

and I like the idea D: but it just that the forest is spoiling the idea.

Well, in that case, that will go to the sepia and cream too.
Since their color is almost to common section

They get deleted, but what will go into the forest?

Well if anything people will be encouraged by the fact that instead of finding horrible pets, they might actually find something of quality.

And if for some strange reason they don't want to take advantage of that, more snipes for you right?

We are not deleting 'uncommon' colours. We are deleting names that are pure rubish, anything with a passable name we have kept as is.

You will still find creams, but instead of them being named 'omgacreamlame123' they will be named something nice like 'Sayal' (For example)

And might I add, when you do find Sayal, instead of it being worthless because it is cream, hopefully they might have a little bit of worth to it unlike it would now.

Understandable, this is going to depend on Patrick.
One no and everything is history :|
But if Patrick does approve of this, it would be good, more easy for res users.

Thanks Air, Allen.

We've brought this suggestion up among staff before, I'm not sure what became of the idea, but I liked it very much.

We're also working on a way to keep the prices at a steady level, it's very closely related to what you and Gunmetal have done, Air. ;D Thanks for helping us out.

I like the idea(in fact I was wishing for it today after I hatched all natties). But I think it should be harder to find creatu after a while just to make it a little more fair. Also I think people are more likely just to delete some pets rather then put them in the forest. Then again if they are that worthless then maybe they shouldn'te be in the forest at all.

Good idea about deleting all of the terribly-named pets. But what about letting pets who are adopted from the forest be re-named by whoever takes them? After all, it would be a shame to delete a rare pet like a kioka or an albino-colored pet just because its name is "dkgdfjkjgrr." It's really silly to force users to take the original names of pets from the forest.

Now, rancher shops are different. Creative names is a huge selling point in rancher shops, so I don't believe those pets should be allowed to be re-named.

But as well as being able to delete common creatu and colors in the forest, there should also be an option to re-name. That way rare pets with bad names aren't wasted, but we can also clear out all of the common ones as well.

I disagree with deleting all the terribly named pets. I have a nattie veram named 675448553 that is very dear to me. I bought him when I was new, because I liked verams and I failed at finding eggs. If he deleted, I won't like that.

Many natural, or sometimes even unnatural 0% rarity Creatus are named named like '34676754' , 'segferghf' etc. You can't just delete them all, can you?

What Air was trying to said here was like deleting creatus that arent worth it. Pets that are meaningless to you and all that.

As Ping mention there eariler on, she said she had a 675448553 natural veram, she can keep of course.

I think Air was saying....If you already own a pet named "7492200" you would still own that pet. You would have the "Option" of deleting it IF you so wish. Now pets already in the forest, I say delete those horrible names, please! I would surely Delete a pet I had named "asdfasdf" because I didn't feel like naming it or got tired of looking for a name. But I would forest a pet I named "Kestial" because even though I do not collect that type of name, somebody may like it. (Let me know if I am wrong:) I like the idea.
