 Little Piggy
This little pig is a one of a kind item made for Hobbit. Since it is not kosher, it is able to be eaten, but it is just so darned cute! Just look at that adorable little Magen David!
ok since this is clearly antisemitic (meaning: same concept as racism, except against jewish people - the item was originally called Jewish Piggy before the name was changed a few years ago. "pig" is a word commonly used to discriminate against jewish people) and there are only six in the game, I don't think it would do anyone any harm to have this item removed from Rescreatu entirely. let's not ask why it was added in the first place, let's just get rid of it.

Maybe not delete it, but perhaps revamp it entirely. Take out everything that's Antisemitic and make it more akin to the littlest pig from The Three Little Pigs.
or, yanno, delete it. |

Hello everyone! Thanks for bringing up your concerns about this item - Rescreatu and it's staff would never want anyone to feel uncomfortable about the content on our site.
In the case of this item however, it was originally made for staff member Hobbit, who was Jewish and happened to have an affinity for pigs. Nothing hateful or discriminating is advertised by the existence of this item, it's just a happy little piggy in honor of a Jewish staff member :)

Wow. That would totally be considered offensive to some. I can't imagine what they were thinking? Even if it isn't intentional, its still crazy inappropriate. At least take the star off of the pig, perhaps?

I don't care that this is an old thread. The fact that nothing has been done to fix this is outrageous.
If you look at this item, without having the backstory, it could clearly be interpreted as antisemitic.
Therefore, the original intent doesn't matter.
The item is antisemitic, even if it was made for, or by, a Jew.
You can't follow every user around, telling them the backstory and trying to normalize the imagery. Making this item was a mistake in the first place. You can still make a cute piggy item without putting the religious reference on it.
This needs to be removed or changed, immediately. Take off the star and change the descrip tion. Make it a plain little piggy. That won't make it any less cute. It will make it less antisemitic. |

anyways..this site is not religious. So it dosent poke fun at anything. its a super old item.. not being sold anymore. I'm pretty shure if no one brought it up ever,no one would have seen it or cared.
I mean why not be offended by all the demon like stuff on this site as well? because its purly evil..and goes by satan??

Extremely important necroposting concerns aside, this is the first time I've logged in in quite a while and so have only just seen this. Considering that Hobbit, as far as I'm aware, is no longer active, I don't think it would be doing any damage to at least give the item a bit of a revamp.
I do think that anyone who happened upon the item in a search or what have you would immediately assume that this was an antisemitic reference, and would therefore feel threatened by it. However, I'm not responsible for the young children on this site, so I'll leave it at that. |

No support. Just from looking at it, I don't see antisemitism. This item is not discriminatory. If wearing a Star of David is discriminatory, then I guess all Jews that actively wear it are discriminating against themselves. Secondly, if your concern is simply due to it being depicted on a pig, then you are assuming / generalizing that all pigs are nasty creatures. They are not. They are intelligent animals, and are compared to dogs in that matter. Yes, they bask in mud, but that is to keep their temperature down on heated days, as well as scrape off ticks and parasites. Notice that they don't have hands to reach around and scratch them off. Even in the drawing, the pig is happy and clean. It's not representing a dirty pig, or an angry pig, or an injured pig. It's a happy, clean pig. This pet site is not trying to make hostile moves on Jewish people. -_-
