0.0 I think I understand why this happens. If you get a failed hatch, and then go forward to hatchery then press your back button to the page before the hatch, it will count the extra as a "Sorry! Your attempt at hatching this egg has failed." page, As another hatch. It's a weird glitch that needs to be fixed.

The simple solution is not to press the back button in the Hatchery.
By pressing the back button, you make Res reload the hatch sc
ript for you, which because you didn't select an egg to hatch, results in a fail.
Maybe when V4 comes around the Hatchery will be more solidly coded so it prevents this, but out of all the things that need to be done, an easy to avoid problem like this wouldn't be a priority.

Agree'd it's not top thing to do, but still. It's quite annoying, I do it by accident myself, due to slow internet. O3O I don't think a huge issue, but I just thought I'd do my best as a member of this site to report it. Sadly, and stupidly I didn't look at the previous threads in this forum.
