Because I keep bidding on an egg and every time I add TU to my last bid to out-bid the last person, it takes the whole amount entered from my account when it should only take out what I added to my bid. Like, if I put in 5,000 TU to start with and someone outbids me with 5,500 TU, then if I enter 6,000 TU, it shouldn't take 6,000 more TU from my account. It should only take the 1,000 TU that I added to the price.

Item Auctions work in a funny way, but they're not supposed to work like you described.
When you are outbid, your entire bid gets canceled out, like in the Pet Auctions. However, unlike the Pet Auctions, you do not get your Tu back immediately. For some reason you get your Tu back only AFTER the auction ends with Item Auctions.
When the auction ends, all your Tu will be returned to you, unless you win, then your final bid will go to the Auctioner and you will get your item.

Thanks! :) I kind of guessed it worked that way, but I don't think it should take forever to start getting all your TU back if you lost a bid. :/
