“Marie, wake up honey,” my mother said. Mornings were always the most dreadful part of the day. Of course for me going to a private school remotely in New York City makes it even more hectic.  Ma wants me to get a good education, so she send me to York Academy a posh school two bus rides away.

At 6:15 I have to be at the bus stop. Usually I wake up at 5:45 get dressed, make my brekfast and leave for the stop.  Getting dressed is always easy presuming that I have  uniform a: white collared shirt, plaid skirt, and gray Converse with zebra shoelaces.  While I was putting cream cheese on my everything bagel, my mother suddenly asked “Marie do you have your bus p*censored* and your lunch money? Goodness Marie! Your always forgetting things! What would you do without me? Make sure to get on the right bus and don’t talk to strangers. Bye sweetie! Don’t forget I work late tonight.  Dinner is in the oven.”

I walk outside  to go to the bus stop which is three blocks away. I check my watch to see that it is 6:03.  I sprint. Dropping my bagel into a mud puddle. “Darn it!”, I angrily say. I hop onto the bus just in time to get my ususal window seat. I read my book while suburban New Jershey whishes by and New York City comes alive. By now I can’t concentrate on my nove.l My stomach is growling like crazy!

Once I get off the bus I make up my mind. I will use some of my lunch money to buy a chocolate muffin at starbucks. My next bus leaves at 6:45 and its 6:40. I have three minutes to get my muffin  and two minutes to get to the bus stop. Stress rolled into my body. Sprinting all the way to starbucks I race up to the counter. “ Can I have a Chunky Chocolate Muffin please. Also can you hurry I’m kind of in a rush.”, Marie rushingly said. “Sure, that will be $1.06”, the cashier said. I quickly grabbed the muffin and shove it in my bag. Then I stormed out of the room. Glancing at my watch which read 6:44 I darted to the bus stop. I glanced around to see the bus rounding a corner four blocks away.

I was scared out of my brain. Watching scary movies about little girls who get lost and never found doesn’t help at ALL!!! I decided I would just walk to the school. Then I remembered that I didn’t know the way. I gulped back tears. I looked at how much money I had $4.94. Thinking quickly I decided I would go into the Starbucks. After about a while of me reading my novel and nibbling on my muffin. A employee came up to me and asked “Yo, why have you been here so long?,” she asked. “Um, I missed my bus. So now I’m stuck here with $4.94. Why?,” I answered her. “Wow. You can buy a bus ticket you know. ,” she said. “Well I’m $2.06 short! “Here Merry Christmas!”

She had handed me a ten dollar bill. Now I could afford lunch and a bus ride home! I quickly thanked the girl. I dashed outside just in time to get the first bus ride home. When I arrived home I went to the phone booth and dialed the school office. In my best phony voice I said “Marie Monjones will not be in school today because of family situations. Thank You”.

I was so starved and scared that when I got home I went straight to the oven to get the hot dog c*censored*erole. I heard a car door slam at about 8:00. “MARIE LEE MONJONES YOU GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE NOW! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? CALLING THE OFFICE AND SAYING YOU WERE NOT GOING TO SCHOOL. THE ONE DAY YOU FORGET YOUR HISTORY PAPER AT HOME YOU CALL OUT SAYING YOU HAVE FAMILY SITUATIONS! DON’T YOU DARE THINK ABOUT PLAYING HOKEY AGAIN! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?,” she screamed on. “Yes Ma! I understand. I’m sorry. I was just tired.,” I sheepishly said.

Well right after that lecture about being good. I was grounded for two weeks. I never told my mother about what really happened. THE END! <333333333
