The Life and History of Our Beloved First Emperor
"... I wish I could say this Empire was founded on some sort of noble goal. The unification of Earth, world peace, the dream of one man, but if I did that would be lying. Instead to tell the truth this Empire was founded of the idiocy of the so called "world leaders" who preceded it..."
From the coronation speech of Emperor Jefferson I.

That is an example of the humor and humanity of the man who I will try to document in the coming pages. Of course every school boy in the Empire knows the cold facts about him founder of the Empire, greatest strategist who ever lived, drafter of the system of goverment that has survived in some form for over 324 years at the wirting of this novel, but with the recent release from the Imperial Archives millions of documents, videos, and diary logs of the Emperor It has forced the citizenry to shake their *censored*umptions of him and replace them with an actual man. That is the man whole I try and show to you from his birth through his ascension of the throne to his death at 94 years of age. I hope the reader can come to understand the "Untouchable Emperor" as nothing other than a person not so dissimilar from themselves.

That is the prolouge to a story I have had floating in my head for some time now. Any comments would be appreciated.

I'm a writer. I've published books. And this that you have wrote is better than most of my stories. Bravo, I'm not interested in usually that type of writing, but you make it sound interesting and very cleverly detailed. Nice clincher sentance by the way!

:3

Five stars.

Birth

Jefferson was born in the most unlikely of places, a cheap hotel. Called simply “The Motel” by the locals it was nothing special, compared to now, but in the time just after the collapse of the United States and the world economy it was a miracle that he wasn’t born in the back of a car. (It is common myth that a solar flare occurred the moment he was born, this information has been proven false by many Imperial astronomers.) Nothing is known about his biological parents, because the Emperor himself wiped any connection between him and them away, very early in his life. Instead he was raised by a low level city gang the now ominous Black Vests.  They showed him the skills to survive in the harsh new world, but also imbued with him the moral standards of the gang, which stayed with to his death. Unfortunately the gangs standards came with a price, despite having many members and the potential to control a m*censored*ive territory they struggled to control the little chunk of land they controlled without violating their highly prized standards. Continuing with our biography, the Emperor lived as a relatively minor member of the gang until around his eleventh year.
“Open the door.” The guard looked up and looked around to find who had spoken. Then he spotted him, a nobody, a little kid, he wasn’t even a Fist yet in the gang, and he was commanding him? Perhaps he had heard wrong. “I said open the door” came the authoritative voice of the boy.  Nope, he heard it right the first time. “What did you just say to me?” The guard asked incredulously. “Are you an idiot? I said open the door” came the boys annoyed retort. “Look Sleeve I don’t know who you think you are, but I am not opening the door to the Grey Vest’s private chambers just because you say so.” The guard smiled to himself, that should put the brat in his place. The boy sighed and nonchalantly looked up at the guard “if you don’t open this door I will be forced to report your Vest how you’re receiving bribes from the Dragon Hearts in exchange for information.” “What!” the guard screamed “how could you possibly have known?” “I didn’t until just now” said the boy smiling scornfully at the guard. “But, but, what?” the guard stammered “ what do you want from me so you don’t tell, I’ll do anything.”  “Swear allegiance to me.”  “You can’t be serious?” His confusion, almost physically strong, was coming off of him in waves now.  “Oh but, I am.”
“Um okay then I swear” on the inside the guard smiled that was nothing the only way that swearing allegiance to the kid would truly affect at all is if he rose to be a contender for the Grey Vest position, and that was so unlikely  it nearly made him laugh. “Do you want me to open the door now?” “No not now, I simply want to know that I can when it is required.” The boy then promptly turned on his heels and left” The guard watched him leave and thought to himself the boy was walking away not with the walk of someone who has achieved a major accomplishment, but more like someone who had just completed another small step in a plan that only they understood.
