The horrid smell of smoke filled my nose and burned my eyes.The screams of forest animals cut through the air like a knife as amber red flames licked at what I knew to be my only home.Four other shifters cowered in the darkest corner of the small clearing,watching me shocked as I walked slowly towards the flames.I fell to my knees and wept silently as the fire burned my true love in the middle of the night.I curled into a ball and let a fresh blanket of snow cover me and put out the fire."Alex.We need to go."
