I awoke to a warm, sticky tongue lapping at my face.

"Muggles...." I groaned, struggling to push my dog off of me.  I groggily rubbed my eyes, stretched, and pushed him off.  He was an American Bulldog-Boxer, a chubby white dog with splashes of color along his body and a patch of brown over his eye.  Muggles wagged his crooked tail, triumphant in disturbing my peaceful slumber.  I stretched again, yawned, and blinked furiously.  After I officially woke up, I shimmied out of my pajamas.  It was a Sunday, about eight o' clock.  I pulled on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, brushed my teeth, and pulled my hair back into my usual ponytail.  I heard my mother fumbling around with some pots and pans downstairs.  My stomach growled monstrously.  I headed downstairs to eat, grabbing my laptop and charger.

After devouring three pancakes, I sat on the couch next to my sister, Alexa.

"Turn on the T.V, Lania."  Her cocoa brown eyes were fixed upon the screen of her laptop, her messy hair in a knot.  That was one thing about my family.  We all had the same color hair, which was a dirty blonde.  My hair, however, had a reddish tint that was barely noticeable.  I liked that, how I was a little different than the rest of my family.  My eyes are a simple blue, just like my dad's.  I have pale skin, since I am almost all Irish and about 3 percent Dutch.

Perhaps the boldest thing about me is my size.  I am overweight.  Very overweight.  So, being overweight, I am also self conscious.  I HATE to wear bathing suits, shorts, and T-shirts that are not five sizes too large.  I am comfortable in clothes that are too big.  Exceotion: dresses.  I love formalwear, and I jump at any chance to wear a dress and not stand out.  When I grow up,  I want to be a dress designer.  That's when I am happiest and when I look my best.

Alexa jabbed me in the side.

"Hello? Turn on the T.V."  I grumbled and obeyed.  That's the way I live, keep quiet and do as you are told.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lania, feed the dogs, and Alexa, take out the trash," instructed my mother as she prepared our dinner.  I groaned softly.  Curse whoever made me so lazy.  Muggles and Bella, my other dog, herded me towards the pantry.  I pulled out the dog food and filled their bowls, setting them down.  They scarfed it down, and then sat in front of me, drooling for more.

My dad came down the stairs to watch football.  He patted the dogs on the head and sat down in front of the T.V.  My dad claimed he used to be "chubby," too.  I doubted it.  My dad, a short man, used to be a body builder.  He won lots of trophies, but quit when he met my mom.  They got married and bought a house in Pensylvania.  My mom had Alexa, then they moved to New Jersey when Alexa was two because my mom was expecting me.  I was born, and I was called "The Big Baby," because I was born the largest baby in the hospital, at a whopping 10 pounds 7 ounces.  My mom always says how my dad was delighted to find that I had well developed calve muscles.

The only upside to being as hefty as me was when it comes to soccer.  I don't look as heavy as I am, but my thigh muscles are mas-sive.  I can kick a soccer ball so hard that if some poor pas-serby happened to be in the way, you would hear the rubber hitting their faces from the bleachers.  My soccer coach loves me, and he lets me choose my position.  I hate running, so I usually stay on center defense (fullback.)

My mom called us all to dinner, and I grabbed a plateful of spaghetti and sprinkled the parmesean cheese over it.  Alexa was eating hungrily, as if she hadn't been fed in a long time.  All was silent except for the sound of chewing and the clanging of cutlery.  Thats the way dinner stayed tonight.

Afterwards, I took a shower and put on my pajamas, brushing my hair neatly.

(more to come, comment below please.  Open to criticism, try not to be rude though.)

Oh my god! I love it! Write more!

That bit about being overweight: It is touching. I think your character is hiding inside herself- waiting to burst out and prove she is gorgeous and on the path to a brilliant future. Which, of corse, she is already.

And Muggles!!! DOGS! I love them! Those slimy little.....Agian, LOVE EM!!

Hee hee! Keep writing!

By the way, tell Alexa to turn the TV on herself!

I really like where you say, "Thats the way I live, keep quiet and do as you are told."

I am getting a strange feeling from that. Does it mean something? Then agian, I have a dark side. Everything I read leads me to evil thoughts... :-)
