Yeah...More boredom. This is a bit of a romance story where horses play a huge role. :D

...ANd yes...I was reading the Black Stallion books before I wrote it...>^>;...But...Oh well. xD

That reminds me...MY Warriors books need to go to the library tomorrow so I can renew 'em. .3.;

Or I could finish it up tonight...Whatever. :D

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TYPED UP SO FAR! DX

HERE WE GO!~

LIFE is Love

Ch. 1

Old Friend?

Ah...love. It's the meaning of life. Or is it? Can someone really not live without it? Is it really that important?

 Well, here's one girl who really couldn't care less about it.

 Dark blue eyes focused on a lone black rose in a vase right beside a tall girl.

 "Now...who could be trying to win me over this time?" she mumbled before standing up, eyes narrowed at the rose as if she were blaming it for all of her problems. A sharp knock at the door roused her away from trying to burn the rose with her smoldering gaze.

 "Oh, what now?" she hissed through her teeth as she moved to the door, already cross at the person on the other side, even though she had no idea who it was. She threw open the door and crossed her arms, waiting for an explanation.

 "Um... Are you Ms. Shinura?" asked the person behind the door, the soft, silken tone belonging to a tall male whose chocolate brown eyes betrayed his nerves. He shifted his weight to his right leg, making the sun hit his slightly-spiked, red-tinted silver hair to create a halo-like effect, which the angry girl ignored.

 "And if I am?" she growled.

 The male in question lifted his hands defensively, a nervous smile on his face. "Easy. I'm only here to greet you, seeing as we're neighbors now."

 The tall girl rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "Whatever. And yeah, I'm 'Ms. Shinura', but I go by Kukio." She gave the male a hard stare, telling hims to choose his words very carefully.

 "Kukio, my name is Namaki. Namaki Amaisa. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," he said as he extended his hand; Kukio pointedly ignored it.

 "Well then, Namaki, I'll tell you something. I'm not a very happy person at any time, so I suggest choosing each word you say to me very carefully." Kukio flicked her head to the side to move her scarlet bangs put of her dark blue eyes. After a few seconds, she reached into the right-hand pocket of her navy blue jeans, which were striped with four light blue stripes on each thigh, to pull out a bright violet hair tie. She pulled her mid-waist length black hair into a long ponytail, though her bangs were too short to be pulled into the hair tie.

Namaki frowned a bit at Kukio's statement, cocking his head just a little. "Not very social, are you? I'll just have to fix that, won't I?" He grinned at her, seeming to have already relaxed.

  "Yeah. Good luck with that. Many others have tried and all of them failed. What makes you think you'll do any better?" Kukio asked, growling under her breath.

 "I'm persistent," Namaki answered, beaming at her. "I'm the kind of person that simply does not know how to give up."

 "Then I suggest you learn," Kukio hissed at him, narrowing her eyes before turning on her heels, ready to stalk back into her house. But, before she could make it inside, she felt herself getting pulled back, followed by Namaki wrapping his arms around her and setting his head on her shoulder from behind.

"Sorry. You can't just walk away when we're in the middle of a conversation." Namaki tightened his one-sided embrace a little, then released the obviously miffed Kukio so she wouldn't decide to try and kick him or something. He gave her a big smile, which faded as she stalked back into her house and slammed the door in his face. He sighed softly, running a hand through his silver-red hair.

  "You still don't remember, do you, Kukio?" Namaki murmured. He stood at the door for a few more moments before he turned and started off, light chocolate brown eyes closed. "Hopefully you'll remember soon...though I'm not sure if you'd want to...," he whispered to himself.

________________________________________________

That night, Kukio lay on her bed, staring up at her ceiling through the silent darkness of her room, the only light being the silvery beams from the moon as they filtered through the panes of her window. She lay there and thought, long forgotten memories beginning to resurface.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sound of loud neighs echoed through the quiet stillness of morning on a farm, the sun just beginning to rise above the faraway mountains to bathe the green acres in a warm light. The residents of three large stables were beginning to grow restless, hungry for their first meal of the day. As the sunlight gradually lit up more of the farm, the bright greens of the gr*censored* and dull browns of the wooden stables, a few stray rays of sunshine caught the golden locks of a young teenage girl, her long hair shimmering like freshly spun silk as she ran through the gr*censored*, ready to perform her daily c*censored*s.
"I'm coming!" she called to the stable residents, three buckets clasped in her hands, Each bucket had a different job to do: one for food, one for water, and another to hold the salt licks that the horses liked so much. The bucket for the salt licks was currently the only one filled since they kept the cubes within the house to keep the horses from wanting to break free to get one. As she reached the stables, she slowed down and began to hum to herself, a tune she had known for as long as she could remember. She turned to trot first to the stallions' stable, wanting to greet her own stallions first. She set the salt lick pail down, dunking the pail she brought for water into a large tub filled with fresh drinking water. She carefully poured the water into each stallion's stall, making sure not to spill too much. Then she picked up the pail for food and repeated the process, pausing at two stalls to stroke her stallions' muzzles before repeating the water and food routines for the mares' stable and the yearlings' stable.
After finishing, she stretched out her arms, bright blue eyes glistening as she looked around before returning to the stallions' stable and stopping in front of a stall labeled 'Shadowed Wonder'.
"Shadow," she called into the stall, answered by a small black head getting thrust towards her, the stallion rubbing his muzzle against her cheek, dark brown eyes focused on the human girl that he cared for and trusted. The teen lifted a hand to rub the stallion's wide white blaze, which added a bright color to the stallion's dark pelt. She giggled as her stallion nickered in response, moving his head to gently nip at her long hair, followed by pressing his muzzle against her hand once more.
  "Come on, Shadow," she said as she reached up and wrapped her fingers around Shadow's halter. She carefully unlatched the stall door and led the horse to where a red saddle blanket and white saddle waited. The girl lifted the saddle blanket and threw it over the dark stallion's back, smoothing it down before grabbing the saddle, made lightweight so she could lift it easier. She quickly grabbed the reins and gently placed the bit into Shadow's mouth to let him clamp down on it. With the reins in hand, she lifted herself into the saddle using the stirrups and the horn of the saddle, settling herself before gently digging her heels into her horse's sides to get him going.
Shadow tossed his head, flinging his white mane in the young teen's face, making her giggle a little. As she urged him into a steady trot, the stallion's long, white tail flicked back and forth. The girl leaned forward to wrap her arms around the dark stallion's neck for a few moments before sitting back up to whisper something into the horse's ear with a small smile. After a couple more moments, she urged Shadow into a gallop to allow him to leap over the gate to the farm, heading towards the town.
I'm actually re-writing thisand making it longer....so...I'll edit this once I get past the first chapter. So this is now outdated. xD;;;
Anywho, be on the lookout for this thing, as I will be typing up the story in a draft using Yahoo. At school. During CIS (Computer Information Systems).
Well, whenever possible anyways. P:
Not half bad, I'll look forward to reading. And don't let other people pressure you into writting more, you'll end up with half-baked chapters just to please fans. I accidentally did this with my friend, who's book started out lovely, is ending horribly. Keep up the good work, Rika!
*noms on Rika* ... *sniffs*
Anyhoo~
I just realized this: you said you weren't that good of a writer. But you ARE. Seriously. You're an epic roleplayer, and a snazzy author.
Snazzy. You know what? You're an epic roleplayer/author. Snazzy didn't work so well with "author." *nodnod*
