An arctic chill whistled down my back. A snowy day in NJ led my mother to belive that I should hand deliver our Christmas cards to our neighbors. I stumbled across the street to the Arelene's house. I shoved the damp envelope in their half buried mailbox and tumbled on. I had started a game for myself. Everytime there was a patch of ice on the road, I would skate over it like an expert figure skater in my ugly black snow boots. I rounded the corner, my golved fingers trembling from the icy cold. A rather large, glossy rink of ice came across my path. I skipped up to it, delighted. I looked down and oddly enough, saw my reflection. Bright as day, as if I was gazing into a mirror with a curious ex
pression glazed over my face. I shook of the curiosity and decided to get a move on. I stepped cautiously on the ice and when I decided it was safe, glided and twirled. My chocolate brown hair whipped my face and freezing snow lazily drifted onto my cherry red nose. It was only until I reahed the near center of the ice when I hear the first tiny *crack* But that didn't stop me. My mind was concentrated on popcorn, freshly popped and buttered and salted- when I fell. The ice cracked below me and I fell fifty feet below the road. As I fell, I saw the ice reseal itself above me- then everything went black.

I awoke, drenched in a cold sweat. I looked around and gasped at what I saw. Nothing. I saw nothing. White, blinding, peircing white engulfed my body. I could have been floating for all I knew. I couldn't distinct the floor, walls or ceiling, if there was one. All I heard was my heart thumping. An ice cold fear washed over me. "Where am I?" I whispered. My voice rang out, sharp and crystal clear in the dead silence. As if someone could hear me, a wooden sign litterally popped out of the ground. It was the only thing that had color, besides me, in this horrific place. "You are in Nowhere"
