This one... I am proud of this one. I can't really call it a poem, because to me poem means maybe a page. This one is two, and has more of a ballad feel to me. For those of you who haven't read the Tithe trilogy by Holly Black, here's a brief overview: There are two sisters, Silarial and Nicnevin. Silarial is queen of the Seelie Court, the supposed good guys. Nicnevin is the Unseelie queen, the absolute bad guys. However, you learn that power really does corrupt, and that Silarial is just as twisted and vicious as her sister, only less bloodthirsty. Hence, this epic ballad of sibling rivalry. The italics are Silarial, and the bold is Nicnevin speaking. Obviously, the combination is them speaking in unison. Share and enjoy.

Will you sing to me, darling?
Will you sing me a song
Of love and desire, of dancing fire,
and summer nights so long?

Will you weave a tune for me, darling?
Will you weave me a tune
To cast away fear, dark thoughts disappear,
On a night with a hidden moon?

Will you paint a great piece for me, darling?
Will you paint a great piece
of the beauty and grace, and love to embrace,
Of our shining Seelie court feasts?

Now darling, now darling
You are spelled and scared
Of the fey around you
In glamoured pairs.
That is your nature,
My dear mortal friend
You are far too fragile
And come quick to your end.

But darling, but darling
Merely paint me a piece
And I will let you go
To remember our feasts.

Dear mortal, mere mortal
I alone tell you truth
You will be glamoured
and not leave that roost.

Oh darling, oh darling?
How sick are her lies
I prefer the ballads
In which someone dies.

Dear mortal, mere mortal
Will you sing me a song
With blood and temptation
All winter’s night long?

Dear mortal, mere mortal
Will you weave me a tune
With wolves that howl fear
To a night with no moon?

Dear mortal, mere mortal
Will you paint me a piece
of the death and the drink
At an Unseelie feast?

Dear mortal, mere mortal
you are spelled and scared
of the fey who surround you
In deadly pairs.
But here is the truth
If you paint no piece
You will be trapped forever
Centerpiece for my feasts.

She does you no favor,
Telling these lies.
Only makes herself seem
Full of kindness inside.

I do you no favor?
What lies do I tell?
She will trap you forever
In her dark, twisted spell.

Oh darling, mere mortal
Whom will you choose?
With Silarial you think
You have nothing to lose?
Oh darling, mere mortal
Who’s side will you pick?
With Nicnevin you think
There is much greater risk?
It is true that Nicnevin
Is wicked and cruel
But not all of Silarial
Is so kind and true.
Oh darling, mere mortal
For whom will you dance?
What happens to you

If both poison the lance?

Any ti
tle you can think of would be awesome.

Love it. Very appropriate. I wish I knew where my poetry notebook was. I think it's in a box in storage. Anyway, I have a poem that would suit the dark queen perfectly. It was called "Heart of Darkness." Wish I could find it. Anyway, beautiful writing. The cadence is wonderful
