This will be the first, and probably the only, story I will write in the first person point-of-view, though the POV will switch between main characters. I hope you enjoy what my bored mind comes up with. :D
I will update between checking my RPS and playing Okami like the addict I am.

Chapter One

Prologue

I didn't used to believe in angels and Heaven. No, I had thought it a pretty lie to help people feel better about dieing, to help them not fear the non-avoidable end.

This was before I met an angel, and was given the being's promise that he would never let me be harmed again.

From that instant, the sacred promise has changed my life. Only one promise is never broken. Only one promise nevers fades. Only one promise can save a person's life.

An angel's promise.

And this is our story.

Chance Encounter

Beep. Beep. Beep.

My alarm pulled me from my pleasant dreams of beautiful meadows full of colorful wildflowers, deer, rabbits, and various other forest creatures. I sighed as I fumbled to shut it off, glaring at the glowing red numbers that told me it was seven in the morning, and that I had an hour to prepare for school.

Ugh.

I climbed out of my bed, rubbing the sleep from my ocean blue eyes, my currently disheveled black hair splayed out in at least five different directions. I grimaced; I'd have to do something about my very motion-filled sleeping habits.

For now, though, I simply picked up my brush, running it through my hair until every tangle was gone. Then, I moved to my mirrored desk to fix it, my feather-cut bangs being parted to the left, where a silver clip with a sparkling silver butterfly that had black-gold wings.

I smiled a little, then glanced at the clock. Only a quarter after seven. Good.

I moved away from my desk, then looked through my closet for my school uniform.

After about eight minutes of searching, I finally found it. Slipping out of my pajamas, I glanced around almost self-consciously before starting to put on my uniform.

Another ten minutes later, I stood before my full-body mirror, fixing my knee-length blue skirt, then my white shirt that included a blue bow around the neck.

After pulling the rest of my hair, which nearly went past my waist, into a loose ponytail, I gathered my stuff and went to leave for school.

Another boring day, the same as any other.

An hour later, while sitting in Math, I daydreamed, slowly listening as the teacher's droning voice faded into silence and my eyelids began to droop. Soon, I was simply dreaming.
