So, I came up with this whilst in the shower.

Who art thou, sunken ship that sails, buoyed by the waves of misbegotten hope?
Faceless demon condemns thy soul to frigid waters of solitude,
'till thou finds not
an apparition that shall linger
upon the shore of thy destination.

I'd like to know how you all interpret this short poem, and what you think my aim was. :)

I'd love to see other people's perspectives.

Maturity is a must - please refrain from flaming my opinions or starting a religious debate.
Thankyou.

Reminds me of Davey Jones and his ship from Pirates of the Carribean 3

Sounds like it's about corruption, to me anyways.

I suppose an element of the inspiration was subconsciously from that movie, now that I think about it.

This is beautiful Fizzeh!

My interpriation would be a forgotten goal. A goal set by a person who tried their hardest to reach it but failed. Though what they do not realize is that failure only occurs when one gives up. The goal still floats in the back of this persons mind though it is slowly being forgotten.

It sounds like hopeless and saddened sailors being pulled to their deaths by the 'demons' who in my mind are the sirens of the sea- the ones who lure them into the ocean and drown them very close to the shore of where they were to dock their ship.

DX I'm completely off, aren't I? Very nice poem, though. c:

Oh wait, this poem is reguarding religion.

In that case, to me this means that perhaps this person isn't sure about their religion. Do they really believe what this religion follows and perhas they feel traped by it. The wondering mind tends to question this persons religion. There are so many different religions out there it may be hard to figure out what ones beilefs are.

I liked it because it wasn't exactly straight forward.  You have to think about it to get a meaning and everyone's interpretation differs.

One of my aims was to create that room for everyone to take it differently, kate, do you think I've achieved that?

Do you guys think that I've projected an opinion, overall?

I think you did a good job on this Fizzeh. Theres so many different ways of viewing this, everyone will interperate this in a different way because there seems to be a lot of windows open for how one can view this poem. :)

Definetly, Horse.  When I read it I though 'This peom is about someone who has done something wrong, and they realize it but they have chosen not to do anything about it.'  It seems as though every one had something different to say.

-Grins- I have two tabs open on this topic. One to refresh to see if someone else has replied, and one to play the song in Pet's signature from. xD

Lol. XD That's my theme song.  I was exuberant yesterday when I learned how to put videos in my signature without busting the character limit. x3
