Yayyy; ugly eyeballz... My eyeball rage has started again :3 I've only liked several of them... Drawn in SAI and used my mouse. A BALL AND SOCKET (I think XD Reminds me of eyeballs! O:) mouse thingy... Not that that matters... But I think using my old laser mouse would've improved the shakiness and made things more smooth.

Yayy; the top two were my first ones and the bottom twoare my latest. I haven't done any shading in the eye (I've only done SHINY WHAT NOT THINGS) since I'm lazy. :D I was a bit confused with color shininess at the beginning; so it's all funny. The lighting/shiny what notz.

For the first one, it just looks funny.Kinda vague as to where the 'end' of the eye is and where it's near the nose. Looks a bit too blended; and the eye line should be thicker.

The green one; I made the lighting WAYYYYY TOO GREEN due to my n00bness (ahahah). The highlight in the highlight is too bright or something... I can't tell.

There seems to be some weird smog thing on the first highlight la
yer; and then there's a super bright highlight on top that's not going with the 'curve'.

Really flat. Just really flat. Even though I did a second la
yer with what not... >> But then again; I didn't work too hard on this one >< The eye is somewhat curved. Yeah... The bottom part is wobbly. The 'second highlight' doesn't stand out enough D:

Please critique as well as telling me how I can improve! :D And if your eyes implode and you'd like to have revenge; you can probably glue one of them as an eyepatch, stalk me somehow to my house or something or other and implode MY EYEBALLZZ :DD Uh; yeah I dunno...

And sorry for writing too much ^^;;

Big tip. I'm not an expert on anime style eyes but for the most part you blured in the pupil. Alot.  I understand that pupils are ever so slightly blured in to the sides, but not this much. If you want the pupil to stand out more, don't blur it so much! Hey, are you also using `Budgie's tutorial, because these eyes seem very like her style, but even if you didn't that king of eye works better on an animal (Once you get the shape, of course.)

When it really stands out; it freaks me. I don't know why; but it just REALLY does. I tried to blur it less on the third one XD

And I didn't use 'Budgie's tutorial' whoever Budgie is :3 BUT I WUV BIRDIES XD And what eye are you talking about? O_o

Oh; and on the first two; I but down the base, THEN THE PUPIL (Oh what a genius I are :3) >< Biiiiiig mistakeeee. I also think I has to make highlights more opaque :B

But thanks! :D

Dude, what is with people an drawing eyes? I don't have anything agaisnt you, it's just that I've seen loads of people who just have a whole sketchbook full of eyes. They spend like an hour a day drawing eyes or something. Is it fun? xD

Alrighty, since you are intending to so this 'anime' (ew... hate that word) styled eye. I'd like to point out that cartoons are always related to real life. It's common that people forget this and think they should keep cartoons and reality separate. Once you do make the connection between real life and cartoon, that's when you can style things a lot more easier. So the first thing I'd do is learn how to draw a real eye.

Observe this eye. Then draw it

-blah blah blah- (I wasn't sure what to say but I felt that i should say something xD)

MUH. I sketched out something for you.

T-T Gawd, I seriously can't do this 'anime' thing. As you can see, the eye has a distinct shape (please figure out the shape because I don't know how to explain it). The shape sorta reflects onto the more cartoon version. Same goes with the lines on the iris and stuff. They got highlights too since eyes are always wet. Your highlights shouldn't be blurry 'cause that suggests that the eye isn't smooth and it's a tad rough (must suck if you have rough eyes). The only blurriness in the highlights of the eye should only appear if you are putting tons of bloom into it. The pupil shouldn't be blurred at all, if you know how a real eye is constructed the iris is really just a hole. The only reason why the pupil looks a little blended outwards id because the iris is a tad darker around the pupil, making it look as it if it's blended in a tad more.

So the lesson is: Understand how the thing works in real life in order to improve it in cartoon. It's all just the process of observation and apllication. Do this with nearly everything, not just eyes. Even if you are being delibrately abstract, it's good to know components of things so that you can bend them.

I (HATE)' YOU

Feel the love man D:<
