Ok, so I just bought a bamboo tablet, and I'm thinking about buy SAI as well.
Is $63 and before I buy the full version I need to know it's good. I already have the trial version but it has expired.

So I have a few questions:
Are you able to do res-style art on it?
Can you do cell shading?
Is it worth buying?

I don't know I'm just confused, and the license agreement is a really bad translation. o__o

I also have photo shop elements 7.0, it came with the tablet, is that any good?

Yes, to all three questions. If you look up some SAI tutorials on deviantart, you can see the wide range of styles SAI is capable of, from painter to cartoon and cell shading. I've never used photoshop elements, so I won't be of any help there. (x

SAI is simple and really light. Not many good art programs have this, and SAI is probably one of the best.

As for res style art, I don't really know how to tell you. It takes practice in any program, you cant just wave your stylus and magically be awesome at something you have never drawn before or never really got right. SAI is meant for more of an anime cartoonish style, but you can easily paint anything you want on it. It can make some things easier, like doing lineart and coloring, but that still requires skill on your part. I for one cannot live without SAI. It is a perfect beginners and pros art tool and i really recommend it.

It has super clean lines, perfect pressure sensitivity, and basic and useful tools to aid your artness. Since it was made for more anime like styles, this is all very useful.

Now for PS elements. My tablet came with it and it was very awesome. Then again, I had no clue about SAI or any art program. I personally like to use Photoshop for coloring the linearts i do in SAI. The lines in SAI are far less pixelated. SAi has a smoothing option that lets the pen drag behind the cursor for really smooth lines, making it tomes more simple. Photoshop does not have this, but it makes it up with all of its options. Granted, it takes a while to get use to, but photoshop is also a very good program.

Overall, these are both super awesome programs. I recommend SAI to anyone who has a tablet, it is just that awesome.

I hope you found this useful~ <3
