the ears kinda bug me. its like he's paying attention to you with his face but then his ears are ignoring you. it just seems kinda unnatural.

hmmm, ok, i thought it was kinda good...

Rudami: mabey it is the eyes, 1 is at a different angle to the other, can never get that right.

Username: Well when i wat my dogs in the backyard they look at things around them, but there ears are constantly moveing, so that is wat he is doing.

Ping: how so? i thought they were pretty good?

Also i have never ever studied art, only in school, and at my school they don't really teach much, i tought myself entierly how to draw.

I LOVE WOLVES! so here is a dew more pics (when i add them lol)

The only thing that bothers me, keeping in mind that art styles vary from person to person, is that he doesn't look like a -wolf-. xD He's much too slender, and his face is too fluffy. He looks to me more like a malamute. *shrugs*

Then again, I can't draw wolves very well either. xD

Hokai. Sorry if this makes little sense. I don't usually do this sort of critique-y stuff - just felt like doing it today I guess. xD

Well. I think what bothers me most on this is that one of his ears looks like it has no relation with the other. It's not the different angle, as I'm sure you did that on purpose with the 'ears constantly moving' thing in mind, but more of that his right ear (on our left) looks a lot lower than his left. The line that would connect their tips (and bases too I s'pose, but tips are much more noticeable) should be pretty much level, parallel with the ground, since it appears that his head is also level.

Same could go with the eyes, since you say you have problem with that; the respective corners of his eyes should be horizontally level if you imagine a line running between them, and also will usually be equidistant from the center of his face, in a front profile view.

I also think that perhaps it would help with the legs if you made it look like his feet on the nearside were turned more toward the viewer; it seems like it would be a bit uncomfortable, having both sets of feet turned to the right while attempting to walk. ;o

Other than those three things (which I probably tried to explain way too heavily.. x3), pretty good. Accurate proportions and everything. |D

Yoshirules: thanks for the input, i see what u mean with the ears, it was more of a relaxed sorta drawing, so i didn't really watch if things were even... and with the feet thing, i still have to work on that, i can't seem to draw feet to the front it is killing me, just need to practice til it hits me... I supose why i though it was a good drawing is i can't really draw heads facing forward. Much better with side view.

Zugara: aha, it's probibly cause i've actually never seen a wolf before, and bearing in minde that he is still a pup, and hasn't had full muscle dovelepmont is why he looks to slender, also i like the fluffy face, makes him look more cuddley, he probibly doesn't look like a wolf cause he is blue ...lol XD

This next wolf is a she wolf, i'm not sure what to call her, i was thinking Magenta but it just doesn't sought (soz about spelling). She kinda reminds me of Portwine jelly...lol, yes it is a bit wierd, any who, I drew her about 2 and a half months ago while i was in hospital, but was interupted 3 times, once for an X-ray and twice for blood to be taken, yes in the 1 day (i had 18 holes all up in ma arms from needles and drips over my trip to the opperationg room) So considering the interuption i think she was pretty good, i don't like the tail, and i really need to work on the colouring, but i was just glad to draw again. I hadn't drawn for a week and it was really bugging me, so yeah... oh yeah, try to avoid open heart surgury, it hurts...lol XD

Ahh. I have some problem with front profiles too. Especially with animals - mostly managing the snout foreshortening. x3 Sides are, indeed, a lot easier.

Hm.. Perhaps you could try studying images of paws being all, faced forward? Looking at things like that usually seems to help me a lot if I need it, even if they're not necessarily real photos. In fact, a lot of the Creatu art has pretty good examples of some of those sorts of potentially problematic things.. They've helped me through several problems in my time here, feet included. c:

Ooh. I quite like that one.

Oh yay, I love drawing wolves. Though I've been focusing more on people lately.. but let's not talk about me xD.

Nakuro: His head is disproportionately large to to the rest of his body. Also, the tufts of fur on the side of his head are an odd shape (although that could just be the character design). If you were going for a semi-realistic wolf, his neck shouldn't be so scrawny in comparison to his head. Also, given the size of the chest and head, the hindquarters are too small. His pupils make his eyes look like they're looking in two different directions. I personally love his tail, and you got the shapes of the legs down pat.

Magenta Wolf: The eye is too big. Forehead's somewhat small, and should slope downwards more before it meets the muzzle. Her stomach- or at least, the front of it, where the chest ends behind her foreleg- is too low. It should start to tuck up before that. Here front limb facing us isn't really bent in the right spot at the top. Also, the one opposite us is too short. Her back shouldn't be as hunched over, either.

Inago: I like his design x3. His head profile is better than Magenta's. His eye is still a little large, and is too high. It's also tilted slightly wrong. His muzzle shouldn't curve down like that, and it could be thinner. His legs are short, and his body seems too long. His chest also goes along for too long, like Magenta's, it should begin tucking up earlier. I just love a wolf with a mohawk. I've got a character like that..

Marshall: ok, with Nakuro: the reason his head seems so big compared to the rear end is cause he isn't on the side completly, he is sorta, at an angle. The reason for the puples is cause he was actually a really smale pic in real life, so it was hard to get right. And i was going for an anime sorta look, kinda like Ginga Densetsu Weed, but better...lol, just kidding bout the better part!

Magenta wolf: with her there is quite a bit that is off, as i said, i was in hospital so, all i wanted to do was draw something...and i did XD

Inago: wat do u mean about the muzzle, shouldn't curve like that? not trying to sound angry, just an inocent question, in a nice voice XD, being snappy gets u nowere in life, so why be snappy...do u agree?

Oh, no, you don't sound angry at all xD. I'm totally here to help. If I sound like a jerk it's totally unintentional too. Crits always make me sound meaner than I am.

Nakuro: I didn't get the impression that his rear was farther away. To give that sort of an illusion, then, you should raise the hind-paws in addition to gradually shrinking his entire back half as it gets farther away from you.

Magenta: It's totally understandable. I was just looking at some of my stuff for examples of what I was talking about, and to compare and whatnot, and I was just kinda like, 'Aghh, what was I doing when I drew this!? Failure!'

Inago: It curves down. Makes him look droopy o_o. It should taper to a point, and both the top and bottom should be, like, straightish.

Marshall: haha, thanks for all the tips and stuff, that is the type of crit. i was after, wat i could improve on and how to do it, not just, this bugs me, then not saying how i could fix it and wat actually bugs them. Or personal opions about, way to skinny or long and then not saying who to fix it.

Also, just wanted to say, that, on some computers the pics may seem longer then they really are, They don't look that long on paper but anwho.

Nakuro: Aha, that is why he looked a 'lil strange, i will try that next time.

Magenta: *scrathes head with a big smile* ahah! I know what chu mean, i was looking at pictures of wolves i drew beginning of last year! WOW! talk about oober failure, anywho, prace makes close to perfect, i'm definantly getting better.

Inago: *tilts head in confution* sorry, i don't know what u is talking about, i not the sharpest tool in the shed, would u be able to give an example of some sort?
