greetings! I'm really not acclimated to the Rescreatu environment, haha, but the roleplaying community has definitely piqued my interest. I fear I don't have any examples of my writing here just yet, but I have thought of a few RP concepts! I didn't want to clutter up the board after turning them all into full fledged roleplays, though, so if it's okay I'd love to see if any can hold up to scrutiny. ;v;

I'd generally be running the resulting thread and OOC, but if you'd like to take control of the plot just let me know and I'll defer to you. :> No credit needed!

-

(Basically everything is in the context of humanoid monsters / monsters with humanoid forms, ahh. Sorry if that's uninteresting!

Currently my fave's #3 (all three variants), but that's just my opinion - please don't feel pressured to choose a particular plot!)

The Plots

1. Among the typical humans and animals, there are myriads of other, decidedly more supernatural entities. The issue here, however, is that they exist only as humanoids, and only in pairs - each is effectively the opposite of the other. The vampire would exist only in conjunction with the werewolf; the dragon of fire, a serpent of water; the bringer of a plague, the key to healing it. They're inextricably connected: if one is killed off, the other goes into a state of mourning that, depending on the power of the monster, could impede life itself in the area.

2. Experimentation is being done with the stated purpose of creating individuals similar to creatures of myth and legend. Plotting here does not necessarily focus on that experimentation, but its results. Fake memories could be implanted in the minds of those changed, and - when trained - they're sent off on missions that they themselves don't know the dubiousness of. If they find out the problematic parts of their duties, their minds could be wiped. Or worse.
2b. The intentions behind this are perfectly sound and they function more or less as superheroes that just happen to fit in with supernatural identities.

3. Though they don't know it, humans operate in the background of far more dangerous forces. Monsters are constantly battling for supremacy while trying to stay discreet, edging their way into society via humanlike skins while their true forms remain hidden beneath the surface. Often, if a fight ends on amicable terms, a monster will befriend those that consider themselves that monster's subordinate - consent is very important here, however, and it's also common for these battles to end in the victor requesting the loser's exile.
3b. There are constant investigations into this facet of society, generally made by humans; in this case, activity would be monitored by detectives and particularly violent creatures would be dispatched.
3c. Fighting - and the hierarchy implied by it - is considered somewhat barbaric, and the "investigators" or hunters aren't humans, but instead monsters themselves.

4. In a fashion similar to the selkies and swan maidens of myth, a monster's ability to unlock their "true" form is dictated by a particular ob
ject that they must keep close to themselves if they are to shift. Even traditionally humanoid creatures such as fae or vampires remain in an approximated human form if they don't have this item near them. More often than not, it's innocuous or disguised as a garment of clothing - monsters with odd circumstances, such as dead progenitors, don't receive their item early on in life (and therefore can often believe the fabrication that they are purely human): instead, if they find it, they feel a sort of pull towards the ob
ject in question and have their abilities develop from there.

5. A game of sorts, conducted by paranormal researchers, exists that allows an experiment to be executed without necessarily requiring the consent of supernatural individuals. As, in this universe, there is a veil that ensures only monsters can see certain pieces of media, they are first lured to an event that they do not realize is meant specifically for them, then captured and placed in what could be called an alternate universe. Mind control is not uncommon here. Ultimately, the best of strategies can be undermined, the closest of intertwined entities separated; it is survival of the fittest, essentially, and when someone lasts in these conditions for a set amount of time, they're sent off to a training program.
5b. The story isn't about the time spent in the "alternate universe" itself, but instead that training program. (5c. No intermediary stage exists between their involuntary integration and their eventual enlistment into the program; there, they are forced to face off against other supernatural entities to determine which, ultimately, is strongest.)
