The Lost Boys

Welcome to Santa Carla, murder capital of the world, a place where the party never stops. The city teems with life during the day, especially in the summer when tourists flock to soak up the sun on the seemingly endless stretch of beach that lines the coast. Santa Carla crawls with all walks of life during the day: couples out on leisurely walks on the beach, children playing in the streets, but at night it’s when the party begins.

Those without a tolerance for the party-goers return to their homes, along with the ones who prefer to stay safe, those who believe in the legends of Santa Carla, the legends of vampires. The moon draws out the creatures of the night; sweaty teenagers offer temptation and with the bustling mass of people, who will miss a few sheep from the herd?

The existence of vampires is “known” to a few in Santa Carla, vampire hunters who pride themselves in weapons that have never impaled the flesh of the undead. The legends are told from lips loose from alcohol, used as playful banter: “don’t let the vampires catch you tonight.”

Sum it up: If you’ve seen The Lost Boys, cool. You know what I’m going for. If not, no worries. Just go with it.
Plot: Loose plot, really. I’m going to accept a couple of vampire bios. I will have the head vampire OC. You can join with either a human, vamp hunter, or vamp. My head vamp will want a few new recruits for his coven, which is where we’ll begin.

Rules:

1. Do not post on this thread. Send me an Rmail asking me to join. I want your character bio and an example of your usual RP work.
2. There will be no vampires who are all, “ohno i don’t kill humans i’m a good little vampire like Edward Cullen. i eat little baby animals instead ok.” They have to drink blood to survive. Whether they choose to kill the human when they feed is up to you, but they’re monsters.
3. Romance is fine. Res rules are standard.
4. Post on this thread anyway without Rmailing me and you’re automatically banned from the RP. I dislike clutter.
5. No other creatures. If this RP gets far enough (pfft, as if) maybe we can introduce werewolves later on.

Info on the Vampires:

They are immortal. They must drink human blood to survive. They can go a few days without having fresh blood, but after that instinct starts to take over and it’s very possible they may snap and not execute…clean kills. Our vampires take care of themselves and don’t try to starve, alright? Their skin will burst into flame in the sun. They burn if touched by holy water or garlic. A wooden stake to the heart or decapitation and burning will kill them.

They are stronger and faster than humans and they only get stronger with age. They possess the power of mind control, but it’s like a muscle, something they have to practice and hone. Some have weaker mind control than others; eye contact is a must if the control is to work.  They can levitate/fly and shift their forms into bats.
They sleep in coffins during the day. Sunlight makes them sleepy and it’s almost impossible to wake them from slumber if it’s the middle of the day.

Introduction: Gabriel
-Night-

He tilted his head back slowly, lips parted and fangs glistening with dark red liquid. His fingers came up to stroke his vibrating throat; there was a dull thud as the body of the young woman fell to the ground. The man breathed out slowly, stood a few moments longer to relive the last few moments before the woman had died—watching the light wink out of her eyes, her muscles turning limp and she becoming deadweight in his arms.

Sweet, sweet, Maura,” he said and kneeled down to stroke her pale cheek. “You had some good potential.” The man reached into his coat and withdrew a ruby-studded dagger and in one swift movement, sliced the woman’s throat. With the deed done, he wiped his hands over his mouth and licked the blood off of his fingers. His fangs retracted, canines still visibly longer than normal, but only recognizable to a trained eye. The silver glow surrounding his eyes died, irises becoming a muted gold, slightly more vibrant than a hazel.

The night was still young and the party was still going on a few blocks away. Grinning devilishly, the man turned his back on the dead woman and pushed through the bushes that had provided cover for them. He climbed back up the hill and up to the boardwalk with a bounce in his gait, eyes wild from the fresh blood pumping in his veins. The boardwalk was bustling with people, mostly teenagers and adults in their early twenties.

Gabriel himself resembled a man little over twenty-two. Unkempt hair snarled down his necks, a mess of golden curls making a golden crown on his head. Blonde stubble lined his thin jaw, high cheekbones accenting slanted, catlike eyes. His sideways grin took up most of his face. He loped around the outside, euphoric in his feeling of superiority. Like cattle, they walked by him, smelling delicious, but not dangerously so. His hunger was sated—he was in control.

Rollercoasters and carousels and food stands and carnival games lined the boardwalk, each adorned with vibrant, multi-colored lights. Music pumped and people were dancing on the sidewalk. He kept his eyes open for potentials, and for the rest of his coven. If they kept him waiting, things would get nasty.

{I was waiting to see if anyone wanted to post before me, but I suppose I'll just post now since no one else is. c:
Also scratch Brutus he don't need no dog he's flyin' solooooo~}

Rowan Holston wasn't a man known to party; in fact, he rather disliked the thought of getting wasted and losing control of all his senses. The thought that he could get drunk and wander out in front of a car or something truly terrified him, so he made up his mind not to go near the groups of teenagers and young adults risking their lives just to have a bit of fun. It all just seemed so stupid to him.

It seemed strange to many people that a young man who wasn't at all interested in partying would reside in Santa Carla, a town that was renowned for its constant partying, but he had his own reasons for choosing this particular place to live. He had been born there and had experienced a great deal of trauma there, but he had unfinished business to settle in that town.

Vampires were claimed to roam the streets of the beach town at night, but most people passed them off like they were just that; legends. Some people pretended that they believed so they could indulge in the fame and wealth of being a "vampire hunter" but some people - some people like Rowan - knew. He hadn't seen the bloodthirsty creature drink the blood of his poor and unfortunate sister and mother, but he didn't doubt what had done it.

That particular night, he decided that he simply wasn't tired and went to check out the crowd. Nighttime was really the only time one could find a vampire anyway, and as he hadn't bothered to look for any in quite some time, he didn't see why he shouldn't go out. He had found a bench on the sidewalk and settled down on it, content to just feel the cool night breeze

His light brown gaze flickered over the boardwalk, searching for anyone that seemed to stand out. No one in particular seemed any different at first, but when a blonde-haired male came down the hill, he tilted his head to the side slightly. People rarely went behind that hill during a party unless they had something to hide, and something about that slightly crazed look in his eyes set him on edge. He mentally noted the man's appearance, then looked away. Perhaps he was just feeling strange for no reason at all, and he was just judging an innocent stranger for nothing.

{A gross post mostly full of boring, inner-thoughts about his past.
It's like 12:30 and it's a school night so this is the best it's gon get.
I'll try to write better posts than this in the future. P:}
