Retiring Seasonals

i remember when i first joined and some of those seasonals were extremely valuable. now it seems that even the colored ones aren't very valuable anymore b/c so many people have them. my suggestion is to either to retire them permanatly like the omni, kioka, and liyure or to at least rotate them every year so that, for example we have ebilia one year and the next jaaku and so on. i'm just thinking that it would increase the value so that a natty uilus would be worth more than 50k.

Mm, I don't really think these are a good idea, especially after they implemented the egg time limit, the 100 egg limit, and lowered the rarities to .5%.

To me, the difference between the CS pets and the seasonals is real life money. So I could (reluctantly) understand why Pat would want to retire the CS pets permanently, since they're not intended to be for the everyday user.

Also, constantly changing seasonals would be pretty annoying for the artists, methinks. But who knows, I'm not in that position. I do agree with rotating however, but what if the particular holiday only has one seasonal?

I think the problem lies more with how different colors are generally priced. I mean, nattie Inteses or Mirabilises are worth absolutely nothing, and things like gingers are still pretty cheap. You're going to have to change almost the entire economy somehow for everything to be a reasonable price.

But maybe this is stuff that everybody knows; I just wanted to put in my two cents. I'm totally open to being convinced otherwise though. (sorry for the somewhat long post)

I think that they shouldn't be retired. Yes, they are cheap, but they get pretty expensive during the seasons they aren't available. Rotating would be a has.sle, because some people wait all year for a seasonal, and if they couldn't get it one year, they'd be pretty disappointed. Maybe even leave.

I have seen nattie Uilus' jump in price over the summer. It would be a good idea, if it weren't for the restrictions that McFlan pointed out. Also, some of us have horrid luck as it is. Like me.

I do agree, however, that we need to somehow make seasonals rarer, to raise their price.

Retiring seasonals would be silly. Lol. Retiring things isn't the only way to get their prices up. I proposed an idea to have two seasonals per holiday. Like the Ebilia and Jaaku. And rather than releasing them in one year, I suggest that we release them alternatively. Release the Ebilia one year, then release the Jaaku the next. Only one seasonal creatu per year per holiday. That should balance the rarity and prices.

I agree with Tainted about this.  ^^  But, I don't think retiring the seasonals would be a good thing.  Many new users wouldn't have the opprotunity to get Ebbies, or the other ones.  Like myself, I haven't been around to get Iluvu, and I wouldn't like not having a chance to get some eggs.

I have to get this thing to level 1,000. Please, help.

yes, please, retire the seasonals after this year's lump of easeros.

i miss the days when a sepia ebilia was 12mil D8<

OR limit the number of seaonal eggs a user can have, like 20 maybe?
then he/she would need to buy of other users.

Mm, I'm very unhappy with lutino's suggestion on limiting the seasonal eggs, considering that I pretty much collect them, so 20 just doesn't cut it.

I think they should probably lower the rarities to .1% and make eggs in general much less common. I'm not quite so sure on how eggs are generated, but instead of an egg appearing 3 times out of every 5 refreshes, make them appear 2 times out of 15 or so.

I mean, I have eggs littering my page every time I click on a planet's links. They're just too darn common as a whole. I got 100 Uilus eggs in December within seven days. That alone says a lot.

And also, Patrick needs to make sure that the seasonals are in-and-out on time. All the seasonals are supposed to be around for seven days, but they always tend to stay for another week or so. It would really help if they actually left on their deadlines, because it gives more time to the users to hoard them if they're not gone by then.

Of course, I'm just suggesting it for the sake of suggesting it. It's making it harder and I and probably many others don't like it, but I think it might help.... maybe. :P

Just for the economy's sake, at least.

I agree with lowering rarities, not with retiring.
It makes alot more sense. Why would you retire a seasonal? There would probably be another creatu for that particular holiday created anyways. It's not like we could have creatu for Hallowe'en and then just skip Christmas. :p It's silly.

I like Whit's idea; alternating sounds like a good option if there are two or more for a holiday.

Just no retiring.

Lutino: I remember the days when natural Easero's were 5m. ;D I didn't think it was so great at the time but now I kind of miss it. Now they're what, 100k?
Anyways.

Support Whit/McFlan's suggestions. :p

I don't think lowering it that much would help. I have to buy most of my Seasonal eggs as it is, lowering it to .1% would be ridiculous. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't have ALL DAY to search for eggs. I have school and a social life, too you know. My friends don't like it if I'm on the computer the whole time while they're over, just to get a bunch of pixels.

I do agree, however, that the eggs should be in and out on time. Maybe, if its possible, is there a way to set a sort of timer for the seasonal eggs? If not, then maybe pas.s the priveledge on, temporarily, to a staff member to stop the seasonals if he won't be on? I don't know, these are just suggestions, but still...

i like the rotating half of my suggestion better... but i know i don't have very much time to search either and personally 10 seasonal eggs is more than enough for me. it doesn't matter the way it happens to me, i just think that seasonals need to become rarer.

Maybe with the rotating idea, instead of one pet one year, the other the next, just have each pet there for half the time? For the first four days you have Jaakus, then you have Ebilias for four days, then they're all gone. (Or maybe to fit in a week, three days of Jaakus, one day of both, then three days of Ebilias.) Obviously it'd work a lot better if there were two pets for each holiday, but if there were it'd fix the argument of "people don't want to wait two years for a chance to get a Creatu" but would make them a little rarer at the same time. Chances are most people who'd be bummed over missing out would be on Res at least once every four days, giving them a chance to grab a few eggs for themselves.

Seeing as halloween has two creatu and no other holidays do, I would *censored*ume that an extra creatu for christmas, easter and valentine's day is an idea floating around, even if there's nothing actually done towards it yet.  Eventually there'll probably be two pets for each holiday, and this idea would probably work quite well.

I've had to go on a unplanned hiatus and will not be able to get on much, if at all. I apologise for any inconvenience this causes you! If you really need to contact me, I may respond to rmails.

I don't agree with retiring the seasonals, it means that new users will never get a chance to have one and even if there is one floating around out there it'd be much too expensive for them to afford. I agree with an idea to maybe get their prices up a bit more but not to retire them. I'm already bummed that no mater what I do I'll never get a chance to get a liyure even if I did spend the money so I know exactly how it would be for other users when they saw a seasonal creatu they really liked and wanted to try and get only to realize that they were retired and would never get the chance to get one without a price tag ranking way out of their range.
