I'll update this thread as I come up with more ways to fix this issue, but I strongly feel that whatever algorithm chooses items for quests needs to be updated. Since the quests primarily choose the same items, the prices of these items have skyrocketed and made it not only unprofitable to play many quests, but it is practically impossible for users without much TU to play. They can't afford the items to turn in, and even if they can, they lose money because the rewards don't match.

For example: toy quest very frequently asks for kayoki ball and gold frisbee, and the reward for this quest is generally much less than 200k per tier. Please search these items in the merchant shops and you'll immediately see the problem.

I propose a couple solutions:
1. Have the algorithm select from a wider variety of items (such as including common items rather than just the rarer ones).
2. re-stock items typically used for quests at a higher rate than currently.
3. Adjust the algorithm so it stops selecting these items as frequently.

With the squishy quest, we've seen that raising the rewards (though greatly appreciated and definitely a good plan) does not solve this issue on its own. A few minutes ago I was very annoyed to find that I was asked for a natural cyid squishy, which was 500k in one merchant and 1.5mil+ in others. I would really like to help solve this problem not only for myself but also for new users needing TU, users looking for active ways to play on the site, and all users in general so that everyone can use the quests. What's the point of having quest turns daily if you feel like you have to stock up all week then only use those turns on a given day to ensure you have the items? I think the quests are really fun and a great way to keep users engaged, but not if most users can't participate due to cost.

Please add your ideas here! I'd love more input from others.

Anything in the squishy quest can be bought in NPC shops for tons cheaper. I agree the algorithm needs some work though. Patrick has said it works best to stock up on items first, that will help for now. It takes me about 3 days to buy every single type of squishy the shop stocks, in multiples. I'd like to see limited skips until the algorithm is changed, if that's going to take a long time. That would help offset the imbalance with the repetitive items. Overall I support.

I have been VERY happy with the changes made to the quests (especially since at the time of the major changes I was trying to get the trophies/forum avatars from the quests) but I support this because while it's easier now to obtain items (lots more people hord the items than before) there is still difficulty in obtaining the more asked for items, even if their rarity is lower.. You could have plenty of the rare items but be asked for an uncommon that's stocked once in the last day (I know stuff like that stocks more, but you can't be on 24/7 to look for it lol)

Cetari are puplic transport on Scria and you can\'t change my mind >:O

i think a faster (temporary) solution would be add a higer amout of items on the NPCs, like the candles for xmas and the ice creams/healty foods/beverages for the luao
if there were more items on the other shops, everybody could stock them for the quests

Higher stock would help. Part of the problem though is that there are about 1/4 active players relative to how many are on during a holiday event. I guess obsessive stocking would help tho! I'd sure do it lol.

i think most of the players active during events are fake accounts (from people wanting to take advantage of the event stuff)
also during events probably we work so hard that we need a break after them, specially cause they are so close to one another

(Based on my experience when I was staff I can't say I agree that most are fake. There are quite a large number of 'seasonal' players. Fake/cheating accounts tend not to try for leaderboard prizes also.)
