Mrawr. So, I was bored and decided to make up another list of suggestions that Rescreatu can use. They have been categorized. All suggestions have been thought up by me.

Shoutbox Suggestions:

- Add /me function? [Enables user to do, when you type in /me, i.e Dragwolf is bored ]

- Text colors for Users on the shoutbox.

- Highlight post when user's name is mentioned on the shoutbox. This makes it easier for people to see when their full usernames are mentioned, instead of scrolling and over-looking the post.

Forum Suggestions [For Staff and Moderators]:

- Moderators able to move threads from one board to another when threads are posted in the wrong board.

- Moderators able to edit/delete posts when deemed inappropriate or against the rules.

- Staff having the same coloured usernames on the forum as they do on the shoutbox. This will help users to notice the staff more and identify who is staff, and who is not.

- Maybe have a post count and post rankings [exclusive for moderators and staff] to encourage people to post more on the forums and participate actively in discussions.  

Users used to be able to change their color on the sb by an option in the credit shop. It's been mentioned since it was taken off and I think I remember Pat saying it wouldn't be implemented again b/c it confused new users.

Username is correct - only staff names will be colored names in the chatroom as things stand now, to avoid confusion among users. 

The /me action... well I love that on normal IRC clients, but here where we have the rule about excessive roleplying on the SB, I can just see that one causing an issue. It's too easy to get caught up having fun and get out of control with that xD

The highlight of a user's name was actually implemented at one time on the big shoutbox, but it seems I remember most users were freaked out about it and did NOT like it....I'm not sure why? lol. This was before I was staff though so I could be remembering wrong. I was on the SB when it was being tested though, pretty neat. I liked it. The new chatroom is a bit easier to read in my opinion, and you do have the option of popping it out into its own larger window, which is nice.

In V3, Support staff will be able to move threads, and we can already edit and delete inappropriate posts as long as they are brought to our attention. =)

There are neat things already in the works where forums are concerned on V3 as far as post count and rankings and all that goes!

Mirrors, I think Username was referring to users having colored texts on the shoutbox, not names on the forum.

I actually think that staff colored named in the forum would be quite helpful as it would help users to know who exactly the staff are, and they could get some recognition. Not just that. If users need help on the forums, they would know who to go to.

Hmm, maybe we should test the "highlighting" suggestion once more. If users are 'freaked out' about it, we could just tell them that's it's nothing to be freaked out about. Sooner or later they will get used to the function. Every new element takes time to get used to, so maybe Pat didn't give them enough time to the last time. Personally, I find it a real pain to scroll up and down aimlessly to find out when you're named was posted on the shoutbox, as it takes a lot of time and we tend to overlook the post.

I do quite like the suggestions for the Forums. Although, I think that every member should have a post count/ranking. But I do agree with the moving threads and things for the mods. The idea for the colored users for mods and staff is an excellent idea as well.

Ping: True, but like the XMPP clients, maybe Patrick can programme it such that the user can choose which names they would like to choose to be highlighted when the name is typed. Sometimes this would be confusing as there would be false alarms, but I think it is an efficient solution.
