Some time ago, a person (whom I am not going to mention the name) was banned permantly for art theft. I looked at the drawing that was claimed to have been stolen and was not convinced that it was stolen. The person was banned for theft immediatly after he/she was reported. Without any questions.

I would like to suggest that we do give suspected art theives some right to explain themselves. I suppose asking the 'thief' what they used to make their 'artwork'. They would have to tell what they used exactly. Specifying the brand, size, version and model of whatever they used. If they used photoshop or something, they would have to say 'Adobe photoshop 7.1' and 'wacom bamboo fun' or something. If they did pencil work they would have to say 'Uni Shalaku, sized 0.5, HB led, mechanical pencil' and 'Office paper'. I mean, they could just read off their pencil, like how I did just now. If they fail to tell what they used, then they fail to save themselves. I think art staff should help in identifying what medium the art work is. For example, if the artwork was identified as a charcoal drawing and the 'thief' said 'Uni Shalaku, sized 0.5, HB led, mechanical pencil', they have failed to prove themselves innocent.

If you're thinkin' 'what if they don't remember what they used?', well I'd say 'it's better than being banned without a word'.

I have had my art stolen before, by a member of Rescreatu by the way. But I didn't report it and I just let the thief go (s/he was just a little kid, I'm sure s/he learnt his/her lesson). This was over a year ago and the thief's account is no longer active. I can as.sure you s/he never stole anything again.

Banned users always have the right to contest their ban by contacting support staff.

In this way they have a very easy option to explain themselves.

I agree completly with this.

Although its art theft, people should be given the right to explain themselves. In the end, n00bs are still people and deserve as much justice as we get.

I agree. I've seen this happen only once, but it seemed unfair and unquestioned. :/

I disagree, because if a person says "I just used a regular mechanical pencil....." and they actually did, but it seems false.  Regular pencils look a lot like art pencils, and some people (like me) use mech pencils.  It could work the other way around.  The art theif says "I used an HB, and 2H pencil on this peice."  that would seem more believable than "I used a mechanical pencil..."
All in all, I find that the system would be quite flawed and imperfect.  D:

I have to get this thing to level 1,000. Please, help.

That's why I said, EXACTLY what they used. To the brand, model/version. How 'bout they give them a task, like draw a rabbit or something, to see if they can manage to repeat themselves.

Me, I just use a simple Bic Mechanical pencil, either .09 lead, or .07 lead.

I use a normal #2 pencil. I've had my art stolen 3 times. None on rescreatu but they could all easily say a regular pencil 0.o

Well, I use different pecils for every thing I do, Homework, Art, writting. But This could be confusing. If the art theft person says "Regular Pencil" They could be accused. Like really I wouldn't be able to do that.

But I agree.

As I've said, just read off your pencil. There's no such thing as a 'regular pencil', all of them have brand-names and models on them.

I use GIMP, or simply Microsoft Paint. :D

My art has been left on the shelf for a user, who left the payment unattended for 2 weeks D:
