10 year old Tavona (Ta-von-uh) Daves has lived happily with her mother, Marcy Daves, and their german shepard, Caster, and their Tuxedo mix cat, Peel. But when they move to an abandoned barn, where they start a farm. Things turn for the worst. Tavona sees, hears, and feels things, and so do the animals. When her mom gets terribly ill, maybe close to death, Tavona has to find a way to stop this paranormal activity...before it becomes to late.
"No mom! No..." Tavona tossed and turned in her bed, still asleep. "Ta, wake up." Her mom gently tugged at her arm. "The school bus is going to leave." She got up and walked out of her room, and downstairs. "Ugh..." Tavona tossed her blankets up and sat straight in her bed. "Hey Peel, How are you...?" Her cat jumped up onto her lap and curled into a soft black ball. "You don't want to go to school either huh?" She patted Peel then got up. Slowly she got dressed and looked at the time, "6:00...really?" She rubbed her eyes and walked downstairs. She sat at the table and ate her breakfast. "Darling," Her mom sat across from her, her arms folded, "We're moving." Tavona spit out her food onto the floor, and Caster ran by to lick it up. "What!" She yelled and wiped her mouth. "You can't...what?" The school bus pulled up and her mother shuvved her out the door. Tavona brushed her blonde hair behind her pale ears and got onto the bus. Slowly she walked down the lane and sat down next to her friend, Ryle. "Hey." Ryle waved. "Oh, hey..." Tavona sighed. "I heard your moving..." Ryle looked at her then down at her feet. "Ya, how'd you find out?" Tavona looked at her. "Oh, well your mom told my mom, and my mom told me...Where are you going?" She replyed. "Uh...I don't know. The bus pulled up before my mom could tell me." Tavona pulled her bag off her shoulder and slid it under the seat. The bus jerked and then began to drive. After about a half hour of silence Tavona looked around and counted the other children on the bus. "Twelve..." She whispered. 'Twelve what?" Ryle looked back up at her friend. "Huh? Oh, there are twelve poeple on the bus. Aren't there usally like twenty somethin?" She looked around one last time then back at Ryle. "Your mom didn't tell you huh?" Ryle rubbed her hands together then placed them in her lap. "Tell me what?" Now Tavona was getting freaked out.
