A woman was pushing
forth a cart loaded with various objects. With her were five creatu: An Amber
colored Uilus, an Sepia Easero, an Aerix, a cream colored Vaspi which sat on
her left shoulder and a lemon colored Queslis, which sat on her right. “Today’s
going to be tough” the woman said, to no one in particular “There are mountains
up ahead, and judging by the fact that I barely sold anything in the past 3
days means we’re fully loaded.”. “I can help push!” The Uilus offered. “Seems
like a great idea” The Aerix said “Just don’t fall asleep IN the cart again!”. The
Uilus is about to make a comment on that when the Easero quickly interrupts “I’m
sure he won’t!” She said, clearly nervous. They have never gotten along, but
they didn’t dare leaving. They’d occasionally fight, and the easero was never
one for violence.

The woman barely
noticed the tension as she continued her path. How long had it been since she
had visited the mountains? A while, but not long enough to forget the encounter.

Screaming, Totem fell
from a cliff.  She knew it had been
dangerous, Acaeix had WARNED her! Yet she just had to be stubborn! ‘I’m going
to die!’ Were Totem’s last thoughts, before she felt something hit the side of
her head, making her black out.

Totem didn’t know how
much time had passed, but eventually she woke up at the bottom of what appeared
to be a cliff. She had a huge headache, and didn’t remember exactly what had
happened. She had fallen, right? But then…what had happened to her-

Her eyes widened at
the realization that her creatu might be in danger without her knowing! Did
they know where she was?! How long had she been gone? Were they worried? She
had told them to stay with the Totem Pole, but had they heard her scream and
did they go look for her!? Did they see her fall?!

Totem tried to get up,
but a wave of dizziness hit her, making her fall back. “I need to get up” Totem
told herself. “I need to get up and get back. The others need me back! Calmly
get up girl…..Calmly.”

After a while Totem
could stand, and walk around without feeling dizzy, but the more Totem walked
around, the more she realized that she was trapped. Looking up, her only hope
was that Nayuralu would be able to find her. The uilus was the first wild
creatu she had managed to tame, and had stronger wings than the first creatu
she had ever hatched. “NAYU!” She screamed upward “NAYU HELP ME!”. She
continued  screaming for the Uilus to
help her, until she just felt like she couldn’t anymore. Tired from both the
screaming and her attempts to climb up she sat down, crying.

She thought of all her
creatu, which would probably wonder where she was and why she haden’t returned yet.
She thought of Laigara, the orchid mirabilis which was her first creatu to ever
hatch. She would be worried, but wouldn’t show it. Her thoughts soon drifted to
the second creatu she had hatched: A Sepia Easero under the name of Aesline.
She had been like a sister at first, but soon became some sort of mother to
her. Eventually her thoughts drifted to Nayuralu, an amber Uilus she had tamed
somehow. He could be extremely silly one moment, and overprotective the next.
Grinning, Totem recalled Nayuralu had developed a little crush on Aesline. If
only she could see them again….

Finally she thought of
the most recent addition of the group: Acaeix, a Aerix which was not really
tamed... He tried to be like an advisor to Totem, and he did a good job at it.
Still, he didn’t really get along with anyone from the group, and that worried
her.  ‘If only I could see them again’
Totem thought, before starting to cry once again.

She didn’t know how
much time had passed, but a gentle nudge against her shoulder made her look up.
At her side she saw a huge creatu, one she had never seen before.  It had a golden color, with a few blue tipped
feathers. It looked far more gracious than any other creatu she had ever seen
before. “Are you lost, little one?” The creatu said, as to reassure her. “I-I
fell” Was all Totem could say, amazed at the golden creatu. “I saw” The creatu
replied “I thought no human would be able to

survive a fall like
that, I guess you have proven me wrong. You are strong.”. “N-not really.” Totem
said. “Oh, but you are!” The golden creatu replied “The way you push that cart must
give you a lot of strength, and the way you try to break that Uilus and Aerix
apart when they fight is impressive.”. “H-how do you- How do you know that?”
Totem asked, not able to suppress her surprise. The creatu laughed a friendly
laugh before saying “I have been watching you, little one. I have been watching
you for a long time. Like a guardian.” . “A….guardian…?” Totem asked, starting to feel uneasy. “Yes, a guardian” The creatu said, laying down next to her “I
mean no harm”. “Good to know” Totem said after a while. Even though it seemed
strange, this creatu really made her feel safe. Totem only wanted to know one
thing.

“What are you?” Totem
asked, curiously "I have never seen any creatu like you before..." . “I am a Liyure” The creatu replied  “And we will meet again, sooner or later….”.
Just as Totem wanted
to ask what it meant, she felt like she was going to pass out again. “Just sleep
little one.” The Liyure said “And I will make sure you’ll get back safely.”.

Totem had no choice
but to listen, wondering how this Creatu had such powers.

Totem remembered waking up
again, to face her worried creatu. Laigara had Acaeix had both scolded her for
not listening and wandering off on her own, while Nayuralu hugged her so close
Totem felt like she was being strangled.  Aesline had gone out to look for
her, but when she returned she had broken down in tears, telling Totem over and
over that she would not let the girl out of her sight ever again. She had kept
up with that for 6 months, until Nayuralu told her it was for the best ot give
her 'baby girl' some freedom.

Since the encounter Juvio the Cream Vaspi, Arctium the Jahra, an Harbersiar
named Stegosaurass and a Lemon colored Quelis named Aigian had joined the
group. They all had personalities and opinions  of their own, which would
often clash. Juvio was like Aesline, shy and withdrawn, but unlike Aesline he
was very quick to understand situations. Arctium was protective of both Juvio
and Aigan, but didn’t really get along with Stegosaurass because of the latter’s
laid back nature and never-ending hunger. Aigian was the youngest of the group,
and often struggled to keep up with the others. That was one of the reasons why
he stayed on Totem’s shoulder: to not fall behind.

Totem sighed, and focused on the task at hand for today: Travel to the
mountains, find a place to spend the night and try to get fellow travelers to
buy her wares.

It was going to be a long day……
