WARNING: UNEDITED MATERIAL!

I wonder who drops all of that tu, he thought to himself absently.

“Well, so we’re going to Relcore and visiting this friend of yours today?” Matsua asked finally. Coffee nodded her head.

“Yes. That’s why I woke you up so early. I bought our p*censored*es and everything in advance and we’re supposed to be inside our portal at 7:00.”

She so… so organized, Matsua thought to himself. He looked to his life-long friend in admiration. With a shock, he realized that she was growing up—and he hadn’t noticed a thing. Of course, he had had other things on his mind when he arrived. Namely, Crystal. Now he could tell that Coffee’s very fluffy, soft fur was growing more silky and smooth. Her claws were getting sharper and more noticeable. Her ears were larger than before. Coffee seemed to realize what he was thinking about.

“Come on now, Mat. You’ve grown a lot too,” she said, then playfully nipped at the sepia meiko’s ankles. Matsua’s eyes glittered with mischief and playfully nipped her ears. They both tumbled around the tiny Kayoki’s house. This game was a game Matsua had taught Coffee when she was very small. He himself had been taught how to play-wrestle. Of course, he later found that this was a game that appealed more to larger creatu such as himself. Coffee didn’t seem to mind.

“Oops, we’d better go now,” she said, breaking up the play-fight. Matsua, still grinning (all the while showing some of his sharp white teeth, as a meiko always does when it smiles), nodded in agreement.

The next few moments were of chaos—Coffee and Mat hurried to get ready. Matsua held onto the small kayoki and flew them both all the way to the Scria Portal Station. With some surprise, he found that Coffee had managed to buy them a first cl*censored* flight (apparently she said she had gotten a discount due to some connections with Dr. Raddish). Also, Matsua was absolutely stunned on how amazing the first cl*censored* portal was.

First of all, it was huge. Second of all, there were only a couple of people in it. The seats had a durable sort of purple fabric on them that felt like silk. There was a beautiful black female Omni that would come in every once in a while with a cart and ask if they wanted any food (they carried everything, including all types of meat). There were TV’s and touch screen computers that Matsua had complete access to as well. Third of all, the most possible wonderful (or quite possibly embaras-sing for Mat) thing… Was the fact that a pretty silver meiko was sitting on the bench—alone. And it was Crystal, without a doubt. Matsua stood there, stunned, for a long time, simply staring. Coffee’s voice startled him.

“Come on, Mat, let’s sit down,” she said. The kayoki strategically chose a spot sort of close, but at the same time, sort of far away from the silver meiko. Obviously, she seemed to suspect the reason for why Matsua had been temporarily paralyzed.

“I take it that’s the silver meiko who caught your eye that you mentioned before,” Coffee whispered to him once they had sat down. Matsua nodded.

“Her name’s Crystal,” he whispered back, his voice thankfully sounding normal—something he hadn’t expected.  I wonder where her mate is, he thought.

“Well,” Coffee said softly, “if she had a mate then, she certainly looks like she doesn’t have one now.” These words brought hope to Matsua. He then fantasized in his brain the most impossible of scenes, composing of him telling Crystal that he loved her and then her replying that she loved him too and them flying back to Reiflem together… Matsua sighed dreamily. Coffee, who was right next to him, started to giggle and prodded his arm.

“Mat,” she said, “Crystal here just asked you something.” At this Matsua’s dreams shattered and he looked up, only to see that Crystal was standing right in front of him. I’m an idiot, he thought to himself, I sat here in dream-land and didn’t realize Crystal walking up to me and then asking me something… He must have looked like a complete dork.

Continuation. Still UNEDITED!

“Hello Matsua,” she said cheerily, in that melodic voice that made Matsua’s head spin, “I was just asking where in Relcore you were heading.” Matsua, thankfully, realized he was able to think and to talk with some intelligence.

“I was just going with my friend Coffee to Adagu City. We’re going to visit one of her friends who is a member of the Exploration Team of New Things,” he answered in a calm, smooth voice. So far, so good.

“Oh, that’s cool,” Crystal said brightly, “I’m going to Adagu City as well. I happen to be a Trainee for the ETNT [the Exploration Team of New Things], so we should be seeing a lot of each other.” Wow, Matsua thought. It was this comment that made him paralyzed once again. He had this strange sinking feeling that this meiko that he liked was so much better than him. Coffee saved him from any embaras-sing silence.

“I thought that last time you met Mat you had a mate, if I’m not mistaken. Where is he?” she asked in a sweet, innocent voice. Usually one would think that this type of question would be prying. However, the way Coffee delivered the line made it sound like a perfectly reasonable thing to ask. Crystal looked surprised, but answered.

“Oh, him. I caught him with a perfectly gorgeous blonde meiko with this round blue eyes and a perfect smile and a wonderful name… Much more beautiful than me, apparently,” she said, her voice full of bitterness and sadness. Coffee looked sympathetically at Crystal. Matsua, however, blurted a couple of words out without thinking.

“That’s awful! There isn’t any meiko out there prettier than you. That jerk was stupid for dumping you for some other meiko,” he said. There was a moment of silence that cmae afterwards that suddenly made Matsua realize what he had said. There isn’t any meiko out there prettier than you. Oops. What a way to break it to a female meiko that you obviously like her. Crystal looked absolutely blown away and a pink tinge appeared on her face. Coffee looked as though she were about to laugh, though she held it in. Matsua felt more and more like crawling into a hole and staying there for the rest of his life. However, the electronic voice saved the moment and broke the silence.

“Landing. Please note we will be slowing down. Do not attempt to exit the portal until we come to a complete stop. Thank you.”

The three stood there in awkward silence.

“Th-thank you—“ Crystal started to say, at the same exact time Matsua was saying, “U-um, s-sorry…” They both instantly fell silent again, looking at the floor. A couple seconds later, the electronic voice came on again and the three walked out of the portal.

“Hmmm… The Relcore Portal Station’s huge too,” Matsua said in order to break awkward silence.  Coffee’s ears twitched.

“Very large,” she said, “but not as big as Scria’s.” Crystal stayed silent for a moment.

“I think that the Relcore Portal Station is often underrated,” she said after the short pause. Then they all hastily walked out of the Portal Station, as though trying to escape the inevitable silent that would ensue.

As soon as they walked out of the portal station they found themselves in Adagu City. Matsua had only ever been here once, and even then he had been very little. The city had also probably grown a lot in size since then. Famously known for its Avocado Ice Cream, Adagu City was supposed to be one of the best place to be in Relcore. Skyscrapers and buildings were positively everywhere. Creatu with wings flew over top of the city. There were so many of them up there that it made Matsua want to join them all. Most of them were gondras, of course. They were native to Relcore and were actually on more of the common side. However, Matsua saw many others who were native to other planets as well. On the ground level, shuttle buses took creatu everywhere in the city. Many creatu would simply walk—there must have been hundreds of berroks pushing their way through the crowded sidewalks.

“See those gondras with the purple capes on flying in the skies?” Crystal questioned. Both Coffee and Matsua looked to the sky. She was right. Along with the hundreds of flying creatu in Adagu City’s sky, half of them seemed to be gondras wearing these strange purple capes that were tied around their scaly necks.

“They are Adagu City’s message system. They deliver the mail to everything around here,” she said.
