This is a prologue to a novel im thinking about writing, its about a girl thousands of years into the future, her tribe and family is killed by poachers looking for gold which now doesnt exist there are only rumorsThe world is now covered in barren wastleands of snow.Being the only surviver she runs away and finds new york city or whats left beneathe the snow, she find the tip of the empire state building.(tell me what you think)

Cunning. Air like gl*censored* cutting through me with every gasping breathe. My Face hot and pricked with the needles of the frigid artic winds.  Boots crunched through the thick moist blanket of snow they lay out before me in a sea of nothingness. Numb feet and hands ,the only indication of them still there was the cringe of dull pain with each movement. My chest about to burst thudding of my heart loud in my ears, battery acid surging. Aching muscles screaming and spasming to stop, to relax. I couldn’t relax, I couldn’t rest. Not here, not now and maybe…not ever. My black almond eyes seeing nothing but a white floor and a sky of onyx black. silence other than the whistle of the freezing razor sharp winds. Its was all supposed to be so peaceful, so beautiful in the world I grew up in and was raised to know in love this time…its was wrong all wrong, nothing of this felt that way I was trapped in time sinister  lands that now engulfed me and swallowed my heart whole. Now It all looked the same, it all was the same no change no indication of progress no deer skin, no igloos or smoke trail that would filled my nostrils with thick deep scent that  led me home. my mind reeled at the thought of so much strength, so much energy to run from nothing to get nowhere with such dedication and the fight of shear survival. To stay here and die wither and give up. Tears welled in my stinging eyes running down my chilled red face leaving trails of new, unfrozen skin within there path. But It had to stop I couldn’t cry I couldn’t cry for the family, my tribe my whole way of life and familiarity  that I had just lost in the destruction from those…those… people…I bit my tongue, my brain and emotions wouldn’t let me rethink, refeel gut wrenching emptiness and pain, first I had to live. At that I ran harder my face up to the sky hoping, praying everything would be okay, that this was just a dream that I would wake up from and my mother and sweet infant brother with his large innocent eyes waiting for me and my mother there at dawn cooking fish over a small fire. But in the back of my mind I knew it wasn’t tr…snow hit my face and reality slapped me to now.  My body in shock and my mind dazed as to what had just happened. I had hit the damp ground, hard. I slowly got up confused wondering what had happened. I removed the chunks of ice from my black course hair and whipped of the snow of my thick fur coat. What could I have tripped on? There was nothing here but snow, endless and ordinary. I looked down onto white searching for whatever possibly caused my to fall, Then, about four inches from me, sticking out of the ground was a small metallic spike just barely jutting out of the white slush. I tilted my head at first afraid of what this was or what it could be in my whole life  had never seen a thing such as this before. But curiosity flowed. I slowly headed towards it kneeling on the ground with it in front. I didn’t what to do at first I just looked at it. Its point and rusted color of deep gray dulled by time but before any other thoughts I started to dig. all  around it plunging my small bared hands in the cold and scooping out fistfuls of halfway melted ice my fingers raw but I couldn’t help but investigate further, slowly the spike got larger and larger and never ending it seemed, now at a faster speed to figure this out the now that small point in seem instantaneously grew into a large  wide two feet around  four foot deep spike I  looked to that side stopping my focus about to give up just before looking at it again but something caught my eye a small fleck of darkness peeking through my hear surged as I took my hand sweeping away the snow to a even larger metal bottom. Little did a know that this was the top of a died out world.
