Screams. Fire. Smoke. Destruction.
Death.
~
The smell of Death in the small village was overwhelming, the odor seeping through their covered noses, ensnaring their senses, their fantasies, their mind. This was why they lived. Why they were created.
~
They were superior, above the beasts, and the filth.
What were they?
Humans, or dragons?
Neither.
They were Accudo.
~
(Sorry for the sucky intro, I wanted it vague on purpose)

Long ago, in the tall, vicious mountains of Shaldiqa, lived humans, dragons, and half-breed dragons. There were many different types of half-breed dragons, the main one being Ushiqa. All of the different half-breeds had different characteristics that defined that species.
There were not many humans, as the dragons were many, and had a particular taste for human flesh. But there was a group of humans, with murderous intentions.
They had so little dragon blood in them that they were classified as humans, and they acted out of envy of the other dragon half-breeds. They murdered as many as they could, in cold blood.
They are feared by many.
They are the Accudo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
List of Dragon half-bloods:
Ushiqa - Colour ranges from deep red, to neon yellow. Not any noticeable talents, more dragon then human. They have wide wings. Height ranges from 4ft, to 7ft. Tail is thick, and 1 meter and a half long.
Ranix - Colour ranges from royal purple, to lilac. Knowledgeable, always have a book on them. They can climb extraordinarily well. Height ranges from 5ft, to 6ft.  Tail is long and strong, used like a monkey tail. Length of tail is 1 meter and 75 centimeters.
Qavila - Colour ranges from pure white, to beige. Healers. More human than dragon. Slim body. Has top notch hearing. Height ranges from 7ft to 8ft. Has 2 tails which are average length, 1 meter long each, small spikes  along the length of tails.
Shaldrak - Colour ranges from a deep green, to a pale green. Warrior. Hard scales on forehead. Quite fast. Can breathe small bouts of fire with extreme emotion. Height ranges from 7ft to 9ft. Tail is thick, but not as thick as Ushiqa, with spikes like a mace on the end, and travelling up the tail as well. Length of tail 2 meters long.
Name: Aveleon (No last name, will be explained.)
Age: In Human years? 20. In Shaldrak years? 50.
Gender:
 In the Shaldrak species, there is no male, or female. There is merely young bearing warriors, and non-young bearing warriors. 'She' is a young bearing warrior.
Race: Shaldrak (Shall-dr-ack)
Profession: Front-line warrior
Appearance: Aveleon has pale green skin, darker in places where she has been injured, lighter in places that have been hidden. She has long scruffy fire green hair, which ends at the back of her knees. Her eyes are a dark violet, surrounded by larger than life almond eye shape. Her mouth is one of a dragon's, protruding, and making her look violent what with her sharp, long teeth, and forked tongue. She has ears not unlike an elves, abnormally long and pointy. On her forehead there is a line of hard, protruding black scales which starts in the middle at the start of her hairline, and finishes on top of her head. On her face there are also swirls around the corners of her eyes, and up her ears. They are the marks the young-bearers get, to help distinguish the non-young bearers from the young bearers. Though the chest area helps. Her figure is quite thin, with noticeable hips and smaller chest area. Her shoulders are marked with the warrior marks, which are a combination of swirls, the word for warrior in their language, and the word luck (in the English language). These special marks travel down her arms, down over her chest, they flow down on her stomach, breaking off and travelling down each of her legs, ending at the end of her big-toes. They also travel down her back, and down the back of her legs, though these marks stop half way down the calf. Her feet are longer than a humans, but not wider. The extra length on their feet helps them to be quicker, more agile, and quieter in travelling, and fighting. She has a long, thick dark green dragon tail coming out from just above where her bottom starts, and it is lined with many spikes on the end of it. It is way thinner than the real tail, but does it's job well. She stands at a tall 9 feet 3, she is taller then most of her kind, as their average height is 8 feet 5.
Personality: Aveleon is reserved, only allowing people through the wall when they have proved to her that they won't die. Even when she does let them in, she still doesn't know how to show her emotions, as her race is a warrior race and doesn't know much else. She can be quite violent towards different races, especially if she believes them to be below her, as she does the Ushiqa. She will lash out unexpectedly if she is cornered, physically or mentally. Her views on the world are mixed. She has been taught that younger races should not have arrived on Earth and are told that they must be glad when the weaker races are killed, but she herself believes that as weak as they are, they should be given a chance to prove themselves. She can be quite rash, making decisions and choices that will endanger her life without thinking about it, it's natural to her. She is quite strong in her arms, and is skilled with maces, and other handheld weapons. Though she is not good at fighting the human way, with her fists and legs. She is quite sarcastic, and gets frustrated when someone can not understand her. She can not tell what is edible or not, and is not good at keeping a group together.
Biography: When Aveleon was born, they were in a time of great turmoil and war between races. Her mother was excused from the battle during birth and until Aveleon was old enough to wield a simple sword. She was trained for several years, until she was 20 (7 in human years) and entered her first war. It was a mild one, and the older dragon half-breeds won the battle easily - too easily. The next wave of enemies were much bigger, stronger, more dangerous. The younger Shaldrak's were sent to the back quickly, but Aveleon hid from the carers and continued to battle it out. One of the enemies stumbled upon the young half breed, with a look of determination as she mindlessly stabbed her way through the enemies, smiling slightly when her sword actually hit something. The enemy swiped out at her and she screamed as the claws dug through her side, blood spilling out. Aveleon turned and fled, dropping the sword and counting on her adrenaline to take her to the safety of the camp.
Years later the long 3 lined scar was stretched across her side, and she trained harder every time she saw it. Her parents and mentor had been killed long ago, and she wanted to do them proud. Battle after war after battle, she killed and helped conquer other races, fighting her way to the front line. She chose the mace as her preferred weapon, marveling at the way the weapon was so alike to her tail.
When she got her warrior marks, she stood proud and tall as the painful ceremony began, and as it concluded, she slipped away into the night, the forest. When she came back, the village was silent. She asked the grieving Shaldraks, and found out that there had been a silent attack, and someone was missing. This was the first occurrence of the Accudo, though they didn't know this. Week after week, reports came in of rumours of the murders, and of how the humans had helped create them. The murders had occurred more rapidly now, and Aveleon had no more purpose with the pack, if all she was going to do was fall victim to this Accudo. She ran into the night, like she did on that first fateful night, and hasn't looked back since, still blindly fighting her way through what is thought to be an impossible battle to survive.
History: The Shaldrak race began when dragon blood was spilled on sacred ground, and human blood soon after. The first Shaldrak rose from the ground as a small, helpless and blue creature, spouting fire and looking more like a dragon than a human. More and more rose, until all the dragon blood that had been spilled, was used up. After many years of breeding, the human blood was slowly taking over. The Shaldraks evolved (in the late Bronze Age) to be a dark green with a more human posture, but still spouting fire and having claws and wings. They soon discovered that large pieces of wood and stone, carved by an adult, could be made easier to hold, therefore insuring more success with hunting.
As humans evolved, the Shaldrak's evolved with them, though hidden from sight. When the humans made the first weapons, the Shaldrak's got hold of them and were pretty much what they are now, though more experimenting with the weapons, not really knowing what to do with them. They soon got experienced in handling the weapons, but unfortunately, the feeders (cooks, chefs etc.) in the pack died out and the warrior Shaldrak's were left to wildly pick berries and eat them, hoping that they were edible.
Culture: The Shaldrak's did not believe in any gods, but preferred to believe in themselves, and occasionally, other races. They did, however, idolize the first Shaldrak, but to an extent. Politically, they did not have any one leader. It was a group of people, and with each circumstance, the younger Shaldrak's turned to a certain group member to lead them. But the majority of the Shaldrak's, were independent in the pack, having the group there only to calm the young. They were prohibited from mating with another race, in a wild attempt to keep their blood pure. There were no cities, rather there were villages, stone houses in a cluster, civilised 'people' living together to survive, because a Shaldrak on their own was useless in the way of identifying food, making specific tools, and in most, one-on-one combat. But when the Accudo struck, only few were knocked down, killed, taken. But slowly, as other races ended, the Accudo took interest of the strong Shaldrak's, beckoning them into it's grasp, and started to tear the race apart viciously. The hundred or so that survived were the lone ones, the ones that left when it started, or when it became obvious what was happening, like Aveleon.
There are no last names, because the Shaldraks in the early years, had decided they wanted everyone to be united as family, so instead of arguing, they agreed that they should have none.
Cultural Images: (Look up at appearances for the female Shaldrak) The male is similar, but with wider shoulders, slimmer hips. Their scales on their heads were also larger, and their jaws were wider. The feet were slightly smaller, and they had larger calves. Hands were also larger, and they had no marks upon their faces, besides war-based injuries.
The clothes they were wore simple. A crop-top style plain midnight blue shirt for the front-line warrior females, and a simple tunic of the same blue for the males. The pants were shorts for the females, made from the same material as the shirt, and it had a skirt of top, slightly longer than the shorts. They were midnight blue as well, with white trimmings.
Shaldraks were slightly slimmer than the Ranix, more agile than humans, and a lot stronger than both species, though Aveleon doesn't know how much stronger. They are also quieter than a lot of races, except in battle where the battle cry can be heard at the start, with grunts accompanying the fighting, and a death scream when they er, die.
Their art is in the special symbols they have either sewn, or painted on their clothes. Each Shaldrak makes up a special mark - a word, their name written in swirls, an animal they saw - that is known as theirs until they die. There are also certain objects passed down generation to generation - a stone bracelet, a metal sword, a painting on a rock - that is a family 'jewel'.
Other: They can read and write in English - though they might have trouble. Therefore they can speak it, though with a heavy accent, which generally makes what they say seem foreign. Only ones which have open ears can fully understand what a Shaldrak is saying in English. The accent is a mix between a french, italian, a romanian, with a touch of a dragon's huskiness in there.
//takes three hours to read. hah
Name: Norian Paskelin
Age: 27 (62 dragon years)
Gender: Male
Race: Qavila
Profession: High order-healer
Appearance:
Norian stands on thick, pearly white legs. the joints and crevices along his scaly skin is covered in small, almost unnoticeable teeth-like
spikes. He has a slim, yet muscle ridden body with a dark cream underbelly. His back and sides are ice white with light grey swirls that indicate his species. His neck is the same grey with prominent blue veins that pulse against his skin in a magnificent display of power whenever he heals. His wings are White as snow with Grey claws at the top corners. His head is a large, soft looking model with Light eyes and a grey-ish snout. He has a long grey tail that he uses to support himself on when he's resting. Stands at around 7ft 3, with a thicker body than most Qavila
Personality:
Norian is a simple, well-spoken male. He has a keen eye and a restless eye for adventure. He, on the rare occasion has a short fuse but hides it well. He keeps himself to himself but is quick to learn about others, he will do his job without questions and is always reliable.
Biography/History:
After the Accudo reached the small village Norian had been born in, the desperation for Healers became more noticed throughout the lands, and forced the younger Qavila to start training early. By the time the fifth attack in the area came to pass, there were only a few families left, and each, in their own time, decided to flee. Leaving Norian and his trainer alone. A few months after some intense training and Norian finally getting his healer marks, without many witness,  His trainer died and left Norian the heafty task of surviving on his own.
After much wandering he came across a small Shaldraks coven where he worked as a healer for a few years, tending to those harmed in battle or ridden with diseases.
But once again, he was forced to move on, where to though? well he has yet to see.
Race history:
Said to have been there since the very beginning, The Qavila fell from the cloud in a bout of dust and flakes, settling on the earth as a gift from the high heavens. They soared and mounted for many years, before starting small civilisations and spreading their descendants across the earth.
They refused to battle but used trickery and blackmail to get higher in ranking against other species.
By two thousand years of land-roaming, the dragons shed their stature and took on a more meak looking posture- a half human, half dragon form.
Culture:
The Qavila was once a feared race, holding the power to heal the sick or to worsen those who were healthy. They used their powers to make false gods of themselves and force the weaker species to bow. They kept one certain Qavila higher than any: Vadirin Balicmeer. Said to have healed 5000 in just a few days.
When the other species learnt of the Qavilas foney behaviour, they set out to rid the world of the creatures- only to realise they needed the half-breeds for survival, and the Qavila soon tumbled down the foodchain.
Not many left without a different species blood in them, they go by with their lives, dreaming of what was, and what could be again...
Cultural Images (Clothes, male/female body structure, jewellery, marks etc.)
:
Thick blue veins along their necks, mixed grey, white, black and blue swirls along shoulder and thighs, with a light (hardly noticeable) blue line along the spines.
The eyes are the brightest blue, the brighter the more powerful.
The clothes they wear are usually a black trench coat with an unbuttoned white dress shirt, black baggy trousers .
Other:
Qavila can usually read/write and speak all languages, taught this why for generations to better themselves for their future. Despite not being bred for it, they are amazing, agile fighters and eager learners, though they get no better feeling than from healing. Their accent is thick Transylvanian with a hint of Irish.
Hope this is okay?:D
Everything was burning, Aveleon thought bitterly as she slung a human backpack stuffed with food and other necessities over her back, the fabric resting in between her sharp shoulder blades. She reached down to grab her mace, and when it was securely in it's holster by her hip, she allowed herself to pause in her panic. She closed her eyes, and switched on her warrior senses, letting instinct rule her decisions now.
The Shaldrak turned sharply, her tail flicking menacingly.
There was a boy in the corner.
It looked human.
Dangerous, pathetic human.
It was whimpering, but in it's hand was a piece of burning wood, and the other; a spear.
She snarled, her long forked tongue flicking out of her dragon snout. She saw it flinch, and after a moments hesitation, flung the burning wood straight at Aveleon.
She roared, a flicker of fire was seen in her throat as she leapt after the human boy, mace now tightly in her grip.
A second too late, her mind snapped back to reality.
It was a trap.
Screaming an unearthly scream, she fell.
Down, down, down she went.
Aveleon sat up quickly, and felt the land around her.
Grass.
She was safe, for the moment.
It was just a bad memory.
The small clearing where Norian sat was licked with light, mostly shaded by the large birch trees that enclose him, he was secure and safe to rest for the first time in months. Since his decision to leave the safety of the Shaldraks coven, he had found himself in another world.
His new clearing was littered with wildflowers that bent under the heavy hand of wind, letting the light floral smell surround him. He rested his head for a small while, thinking about where he should go or who he should become.
After a few hours of careful sleep Norian felt refreshed enough to carry on his journey, curling his tail around his waist as he snuggled against the cold air.
He was in new territory, and the thought of who might be around gave him the chills.
Aveleon streched, her body tightening and outlines of bones showing. Standing up, she reached down for her mace, and stood there for a minute or two, just letting the battle-weary weapon warm up in her hands. She flipped the mace over her shoulder, and slid it into it's  holster across her back. In one fluid motion, she ripped the mace out of it's holster, before sliding it back in.
Bending down, she grabbed her flimsy backpack and reached inside, pulling out a green apple. Aveleon threw the bag onto her back, before turning around, the opposite way she came and ran.
Before long she came across a clearing surrounded by birch trees, and she knew someone had been here.
It was a half-dragon, certainly, you could tell that by the imprint in the ground.
The scent was still fresh, they probably left recently.
No sign of a struggle.
Which means that the half-dragon was alive.
For the first time since Aveleon left, she felt something rush through her, something familiar.
Hope.
She ducked underneath the low branches and ran through where the footprints led. She ran like she had never run before, feet flicking through the grass, then feet pounding on the dirt.
She was too loud, too happy; a Target.
She didn't care.
For the first time in her life, she didn't care.
The smell of fresh water tainted the air and grew until it filled Norian's senses and drove him forward. The land started to dip and the moss growing against each tree looked damper, signalling a stream or river was close. His wings stretched and arched in preparation to take off, but he couldn't risk being seen in the sky in this light. No, he must stay landed.  He slipped down slopes and struggled against loose roots, stumbling further down the steady hill until the sound of rushing water could be heard just around the corner.
But that wasn't the only sound.
Norian's head snapped around so fast a tinged ache echoed along his spine before his body slammed against the base of a tree to hide. Momentarily forgetting about the stream, he listened to the advancing creature.
Was he being followed?
Aveleon stopped suddenly, and her feet slipped on the dirt. Her instincts kicked in when she heard a slamming sound and she propelled herself forward again; but this time, silent, except for the small thumps of her feet hitting the ground, but the sound of running water covered that.
Leaping over a fallen log next to a tall tree with a thick base, Aveleon slowed. Taking on a battle stance, she reached over her shoulder for her mace, and with a small tug, the weapon came free and rested in her hands.
She heard a small amount of movement and she turned sharply, and slammed her mace on the ground, near where the sound occurred.
Deeming it safe enough, Aveleon lifted her snout in the air and sniffed. It was most definitely a half-dragon.
"Come out, dragon, come out where ever you are..." Her thick accent swirled through the air, she needed to find the half-dragon.
Shaldrak.
Dammit.
Maybe she's one from the coven, searching for him? no, he doesn't recognise her scent.
Ugh, but where can he go? there's no way of getting around the tree without her seeing. So really, there's only one way... out.
Without a second thought, Norians hands were gripping into the base of the tree and his body was being hoisted up. From the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of her.
So close. just a whisper away.
Magnificent, a fighter. obviously stronger than he could ever be, but he wouldn't admit that. And then the weapon at her side, how easy it would be to take him out? and would she?
Higher and higher he climbed, as fast as he could. All he had to do was reach the top, then he could use the only weapon he has; his wings.
Aveleon froze.
The tree, the tree, the tree...
TURN AROUND.
Aveleon whipped around, and just saw the lower half of a white body slowly disappear up into the branches.
Leaping, she grabbed the first branch and threw herself up clumsily. Standing up shakily, she grabbed a corner of one of the white wings, effectively freezing the dragon above her.
"Ssstop, I'm nnnot ann ennemy. I wonn't hurrt youu."
Taking a deep breath and shutting her eyes tightly, she dropped her mace to the ground to convince the half-dragon.
Looking up, she waited anxiously to see if the white half-dragon accepted the promise.
He had no choice, he couldn't move. His eyes wandered down until they settled on the Shaldrak below him, listening to her thick voice as she pleaded him.
Maybe climbing the tree wasn't the best idea.
The soft thud echoed, almost too long, as the mace hit the floor. The Shaldrak seemed sincere, but Norian knew too well what they could do.
If he agreed atleast he'd have a chance of escaping.
He relaxed as much as he could and squinted towards the female, hoping to be set free as soon as possible...
When the Qavila relaxed in her hand, she let go of him slowly, before narrowing her eyes to make sure she made a good choice in doing this, before jumping off the branch and landing on the ground.
Almost frantically, she grabbed her mace off the ground and shoved it into it's holster across her back, before turning to look at the white dragon.
"Did you bring anything useful with you, Qavila?" Aveleon never said she was anything but blunt, and too the point. If they were going to survive, they were going to need healing equipment, and his knowledge on edible food; Aveleon had only brought a small amount of food.
She walked around the corner, to find a small river bubbling merrily, and, making sure she was still in eye and earshot of the Qavila, she bent down and scooped some water into her palm and tipped it into her mouth, making sure the Qavila knew.
She knew the Qavila would probably try to escape, and she wouldn't show mercy if he did. He'd meet the fury of a Shaldrak if he tried anything.
Norian dropped from the tree after she had reached the stream, landing on his feet with his wings stretching over his back. He stood tall and stared at the Shaldrak, tipping his head to the side as he surveyed her, taking slow cautious steps forward.
"I brought myself." he seethes, his long neck arches in annoyance as he stands a few feet beside the other half-dragon, dipping his hands into the cool, springy water, before taking a sip.
Twisting his body away from the Shaldrak, pointing his snout in her direction he grumbles something in a distant language, one that his family favoured.
Who was she? why was she here? when will he get away?
He already started planning his escape.
Aveleon lifted her snout up and looked at him strangely. This one has a backbone, she thought curiously. But nevertheless...
"No need to be rude."
Standing up, when the Shaldrak felt the mace settle in it's holster, she walked over to the tree and threw herself up into it.
Slowly climbing up the tree, Aveleon was determined to get to the top branch.
"What's your name?" She called down, trying to find out whether the Qavila had escaped or not, with curiosity thrown in there too.
Norian sighed, turning towards the tree. He had no time for this, despite having all the time in the world... He just wanted to get as far away as possible from anyone, especially a Shaldrak.
"Norian" He seethed, twiddling his fingers with anticipation. "And what do you want?" He didn't meet the females eyes, wanting to get through this as fast as he could without getting killed.
Why is she here? he has no valuable information? aren't they on the same side?
With the confusion and fear slowly bubbling to the surface of the Qavila, he battled to keep the urge of flying away down. No need to add 'being chased by an angry Shaldrak' to his list of reasons why to leave...
 "Aveleon." The Shaldrak replied, before continuing to climb, choosing to ignore the Qavila-- Norian's, question. But if she wants him to stay with her...
After a long moment of hesitation, she answered him; though perhaps not the way he wanted.
"I want to survive, and to do that, I need to know where we are. I'm climbing the tree to do that. Not everyone has wings like you."
She reached for a small branch, and after testing it's strength, reached up and slowly pulled herself onto it, standing on it gingerly before trying to see through the thick covering of leaves.
Growling, she muttered loudly.
"Too frickin' leafy."
And with that, she turned around and leaped out of the tree, falling to the ground. Quickly she did a commando roll, and stood up.
"Good news, I can now leap from trees without hurting myself." She grinned. "Bad news, I couldn't get high enough to see through the leaves."
