I think it'd be nice to be able to upload your own avatars to use in the forums. Rescreatu has free avatars made by them, but it's also be nice to be able to have your own avatar that is different from everyone else's. So many people are making avatars in the graphic commissions, but you can't actually use them in the forums. You could have an avatar to match your siggy. I think it'd be a nice addition. Plenty of other sites allow this, why couldn't Rescreatu? Comments? |

It has also been said that it would devalue the fact that staff have their own avatars (or can earn their own avatars). Only staff or former staff have unique avatars, makes them very easy to spot on the forums.

I half-agree. The staff does work hard and they earned their avatars, but I also think it would be nice to use our. However I do think we should somehow earn it ourselves by doing some sort of quest or paying for it. My idea is that we are allowed to add one of our own avatars to our collection for 50 credits. If we want to change it to another non-Res avatar, we have to give 50 more credits but we can still use the old one as well. Kinda like paying for a avatar slot... if that makes sense xD Oh, and, Lake. People are always going to try to break the rules with or without avatars and they can always find ways around them, so that argument is rather invalid. It's why the mods have a 'ban' button ;D |

I feel like I inspired this, somehow ;x No support, staff earn the right to have their own special avatars, plus people might use images that are less than appropriate.

you should be able to make an avatar with your username on it! It would be like human avatar! only YOU would make it from scratch! I would put a picture of my puppy and hgis moommy as mine?! |

I do not agree, as if you have a rare avatar (like mine at the moment), anyone could just save the pic and upload it as their own :/.
And I have seen many sites with freely changable avatars and it really makes the forum chaotic and ugly in my opinion. I like it as it is, Res style. The siggies are enough.
However it would be cool if some nice new avatars could be purchased from the credit shop :).

Mabye there could be a shop where you could buy new Avatars made by staffies, and some from different users.

I support this idea. The staff have worked hard to make avatars for the site, and i'm sure most of us would respect this and continue using staff-made avatars, but some of us would like to show our individuality in the forums as well. lakendrashley1234321: Yes, this could happen, but of all the websites that i've been on that allow users to use their own avatars, I haven't seen many cases of this. In fact, I haven't seen any. Zozo's idea isn't bad either, but I think what Caya is trying to say is that we want avatars that are personalised, and can bring out the special aspects of us. Not just avatars that everyone else can use on here like "Ebilia whisperer" and the other Creatu. |
