From the Journal of Professor Jessica Jekyll.

Entry 23: October 28th, 2016. 4:30 AM

My Lab, Relcore

The Egg hunting has officially begun! I would like to begin this entry by saying what a wonderful thing it is to celebrate Halloween like one celebrates Easter, with a glorious seasonal egg hunt! After getting up at 4:00, I have come across four Jaaku eggs so far, and I have only left one behind due to arm space. I have begun taking multiple trips from my lab to the field and back again to gather these beautiful eggs and the tasty candy that seems to adorn the grass as I wander. It's quite fascinating how the eggs seem to follow you with their eyes, and I will have to ask my elder Jaaku about the gorgeous oddities. Czarian will know why, but in the meantime, the eggs I found need hatching. I shall go ebelia hunting at another ti–

My lab, Relcore

I have done it! My first trio of baby Jaakus! I had to cut my previous entry in half because the eggs were shaking, ready to hatch! I now have two males and a female Jaaku. Two cream, one natural. As I hatched them, they simultaneously made a beautiful harmony of sounds, as if they were singing together! Can Jaakus do that? I have only moved here recently, I do not know much about these fascinating creatures, but from what I have read it seems that they are the souls of deceased creatu who harbored too much anger or loss at the time of their death manifested into a beautiful Spectre. It is also said that the jaaku adore playing pranks, so I will have to keep my eyes on this rascally trio. Jiinxx (the female) is perched on my shoulder and is now trying to lick my cheek with her long tongue. I do not know if this is a sign of affection or if she is simply curious as to what I taste like, or both. Jaakuzzii, the eldest male (by three seconds) has appeared to take a liking to my top hat and is now nestled inside of it with only his eyes and forehead sticking up from over the brim, glaring at everything as if he is deciding what is safe and what is not. Jazzii, the youngest male, is cradled in my left arm. He appears to be shy and seems to enjoy nestling in the crook of my arm. These three baby Jaakus are a cause for so much joy right now, and I am happy that my first Halloween is going successfully!

My Lab, Relcore

It appears that my small family of jaakus is growing! The three baby Jaakus have been a massive help in finding more eggs to incubate. I also have taken in a pair of undead twin Jaakus. I do not see what all the fuss about the undead Jaakus is about, I find them quite fascinating. My beautiful pair, Jingli and Jangli, are very sweet. Jazzii has taken to perching on Jingli's horns while Jaakuzzii perches on Jangli's. Jiinxx finds her place on my shoulder to be quite comfortable, and the little baby is fascinated by my work. The only thing out of place about this Halloween is the strange sightings I have had. Albino jaakus floating to me, as if trying to tell me something, and then floating right through me and disappearing! What's more, the Ebelia are acting strange too. The eggs I have found seem to be glowing slightly dimmer than other eggs my friends have found, and there is a ghastly shape following me everywhere I go. I have asked Czarian, my resident ancient Achromatic Jaaku if he knows about what is going on, and through writing he told me that an ancient power has been disturbed and the dead are rising as they did eons earlier. This chilled me to the core and reminded me of my trip to the graveyard to visit and pay my respects to the creatu that had once lived with me, where I saw a bleached-white ebelia who rattled like an unseen force was shaking it back and forth. I sensed it was trying to tell me something, like the albino jaaku, but I could not understand. It turned and hissed, then scampered off into the caves of Rieflem. I will have to look into this further, but for now these baby jaakus are in need of a good meal.

My Lab, Relcore

I have had the  most terrifying experience today. I was attacked in my lab by a hoarde of undead creatu. It pained me to see that my very own Azarel, the very first creatu bestowed upon me as a gift from Harrison Merryberry, was in the hoarde as well. The terrifying silver Drindian stalked towards me with a ferocity that he had not possessed alive. I was frozen, unable to move until Jingli and Jangli jumped in front of me and scared off the hoarde. They seemed to be unaffected by the curse that has turned even my own beloved deceased against me. The rest of my Jaaku clan that has been steadily growing helped me clean up my lab. Czarian approached me and said mysteriously "It has come..." then faded away into the corner. i am worried that some of my precious creatu might not make it through this autumn alive.

How am I doing so far?
There will be more entries from Prof. Jessica Jekyll in the near future, and her colleagues Doctor Harrison T. Merryberry, and Miss Lucy Hoppes, have also been keeping journals. Don't forget to keep an eye out for them!

When someone is special to you, hold on to them for as long as you can. You never know when the day you have is your last.
