The demons had been restless that night-- the single night in his life that had been so painstakingly horrid that it had been seared into his memory. His tale had been one of complete and utter normality; there had never been any darkness, there had never been any demons, and there sure as heck hadn't been any pain. Of course, that all came to an end that night. He'd been alone, sitting in the park when the cold and clammy hands had encircled his heart and tucked away his soul. He hadn't had a single chance-- death had cradled him like an eager lover. Of course, with his luck he hadn't ended up in the underworld-- no, he'd been cast aside in the big scheme of things and left to rot eternally on the earth that he'd been birthed upon. He didn't even recall how he died. Painfully, he did know; but the details were blurred together. If his current state was one of proof, he'd been brutally twisted. He bled often, almost constantly, and that was enough to tell you what kind of ending was possible in this world. But that bothered him little. To have his life snatched away before he could've completed it was his main sorrow. His lack of love, his lack of children... His lack of LIFE and the very essence that makes it worth living. Gone.
