[The German Shepherd Fan Club]

German Shepherd-lovers and owners galore

[About The Breed]
Category: Working Dogs

Size: Large

Coat Colours: Tan and Black, White, Black.

Coat Type: Long-haired

Average Lifespan: 9.7 years

German Shepherds have black and tan markings that make them distinctive from other dog breeds. Their Alsatian features also distinguish  They are often seen in the police force, the army, and other uniform groups around the world. They are known to be faithful, loyal, and intelligent.

Side note: German Shepherds shed a butt-tone, so you should take care of your GSD by grooming him/her regularly, or you'll start seeing fluff-balls rolling around the house like tumbleweeds.

However, they can have a variety of problems if not taken care of or bred properly. Most GSDs, even if bred properly, will still potentially have arthritis and bloat at a young age, so make sure that your German Shepherd's pedigree chart is well checked out before buying!

NOTE TO ALL DOG OWNERS, REGARDLESS: Please make sure that you take proper care of your dog, no matter what the breed is, from day one. If you cannot handle your dog/afford to keep it, please rehome it to a better family and not send it to the shelter, as many homeless dogs are euthanised in the shelters if they are not adopted for a certain number of days.

These wonderful forgiving creatures deserve our love and care, not our hatred and ignorance.

i read a book called follow my leader. i am still reading it...

it is about
a boy named Jimmy is blinded in an accident with a firecracker That his friend , Mike Adams threw. He has to relearn all the things he used to know - how to get dressed, how to find his way around the house, even how to eat. With the help of a determined therapist, he learns to read Braille ( The language of the blind) and use a cane. Then he's given the chance to have a guide dog (Sirus). Learning to work with Leader is not easy, but Jimmy tries harder than he ever has before. Can Leader really give him the ability and the confidence he needs? The dog's name was Sirus but Jimmy re-named it!

join! Also i join for the American eskino dogs!Whoo!

Ah, thanks for joining dogpaw! <3 If you like that book, you might want to read "Cracker". It's a book about a German Shepherd dog called Cracker who works in the army as a bomb-finder and her owner. :3

I used to have a GSxLab cross. We brought it home when it's mom died, it was a stray. Mom disapproved of it though, but we often visit the dog at Tuas c:

I have a german shepherdxgreat dane cross XD

He's really smart, and he's big enough to reach the door handles...

He looks like a big shepherd, but with great dane coloring, he's blue/gray with black spots, with a white splotch on his chest, he's puppyish too!

Looked back at this Fan Club and had sentimental moments. I've editted the first post to make it neater and not so messy. :)

And to add to this revived fan club, I'd like to share my love for German Shepherds. :) Although I don't personally have one (I have a pomxpoodle mix) I've met a few and they are adorable. My dog is tiny so meeting such large dogs is amazing and they are very obedient dogs.

Adopt one today!

Yes they are, not to mention loyal and caring <3 It's the same with most other dogs, but I feel that GSDs are my favourite breed although I had a Boxer dog as my first dog.
